It's been 2 years and I just came off oral antibotics for lyme. I was off for almost 1 month then I got pneumonia. Is this just coincidence, or are lyme patients more prone to this? I am back on antibotics for my pneumonia, but I am afraid when the antibotics run out. Any ideas?? Posted by bettyg (Member # 6147) on :

Was it identified what kind of pneum. you have?

It's probably a coincidence. You can easily develop pneumonia after a flare of seasonal allergies or even a simple virus. These two things set the stage allowing mucus and bacteria to settle in the lungs. Pneumonia is not just a winter illness.

I'm very prone to pneumonia. I think that's where my weakness is.
