new to the site and have to say that it is an incredible amount of information. so many write about insomnia/pain/feeling bad.....is there anyone who is on my regimen which includes ambien to sleep at night, as well as an SSRI, and if so, did you see a difference between cymbalta and a prozac? p.s. also do vitamin therapy besides my meds listed below.

.5 mg clonazepam to sleep at night works wonders for me, in fact it's the only thing that works in lyme state. Ambien, simply sleep, etc. make things worse for me. 1 mg of clonazepam when things get bad is like hitting the OFF switch, it works well.
SSRI's are scary, I never went on them and in fact my llmd suggested to stay away from them with lymebrain. the brief time I went on Lexapro I almost went crazy.

Prozac worked well for me for awhile. A lot of people also like Zoloft as an SSRI.
Ambien is good to sleep, but it was making me hung over the next day, so I switched to Lunesta, and I like Lunesta better because I am less drowsy during the day.
If you don't have low blood pressure, Trazadone can be a good sleep aid for some, but watch for tiredness the next day.
Elavil is another good one to help with sleep. It is an old antidepressant, but it also helps with sleep, and pain I believe. So nowadays, a lot of doctors will prescribe it at night to help patients fall asleep, and not have pain while they sleep. It does knock you out!
The one side effect I had from Elavil (aka ampitryptaline...spelling?) was bad constipation, but if you take plenty of Cod Liver Oil (check the label to be sure it says free of contaminants and metals), the oil should help with that side effect and keep your bowels moving.

I used to take Ambien CR, but my new psychiatrist does not prescribe that drug. He gives me Trazodone instead which is an anti-anxiety med I think.
It helps okay, I guess, but the Ambien worked better.
I have taken Lexapro for years and honestly don't think I could survive without it. Before that I took Prozac for many years. I really hated that drug. All of us react differently, I suppose. My sister can not tolerate any anti-depressants at all.
