Since I have a family history of RA, this could be a good ABX for me, as well as treatment for Lyme.

Wanted to know, what combos work best that any of you have been on? Thanks!

I also want to try a cyst buster called Tindamax. How is that?

Also, how did you all do on zithromax? I can't stand the metal taste in my mouth. Any side effects with this also? thanks, Fran

You definitely need a cyst buster and Tindamax for many is much easier to handle than flagyl.

It most probably will bring on a herx but that's what you want. Can't get better if you don't start killing those buggers, but as with everything about lyme everyone will respond differently.

Mino has very good penetration ability and is a good ABX and zithro will not give you that wonderful metal taste. You may grow to miss it [Big Grin]

I would say all three are some of the well used meds in the Lyme patient's arsenal.

I did well with mino combined with rifampin. It was the best combination I took actually.
Rifampin treats bartonella I believe.

I did fine on Biaxin, but Zith was too strong for me. The metal taste of the Biaxin goes away after a couple months.

I really liked Mino. Great drug for me. Everyone is different though, some hate it.

Tindamax was also tough for me. I took it one week per month for four months.

It's very likely that your RA is caused by Lyme. Many times it is.

Yes I am finding that I have less of a metallic taste in my mouth now.

I am at a cross road today, of what I want to do now with all of my treatment.

Sorry feeling a bit discouraged today. Feeling very upset and confused about all of this stuff.

We all have days like this. It's a very difficult illness and so is the treatment. I'm sure your LLMD will be able to help you make some decisions.

You just have to be determined and stick with it but we all have days when it feels so difficult.

Mino,Zithro, and Tindamax are all cannons for Lyme.

I am currently on all 3 and Bactrim DS.

I find that Mino has been hitting me the hardest all around.

It may be because I am on high doses of all my ABX's.

Out of all the ABX's that I have tried(Oral and IV) Mino seems to be one of the best.

I think it is important for anyone that is on ABX to be on a "Cyst Buster".

Also Zithromax and Mino are a nasty combo for Lyme.

The only side effects that I get with the meds are a little bit of stomach problems and the Zithro bothers my ears a little bit.

Hope that helps!
