Yesterday the HR 2749 bill came within 6 votes of passing and becoming law. And right now the HR 2749 bill is going back into committee to be modified and re-written in the hopes of bringing it back to the floor for a regular vote tomorrow, Thursday July 30th.
It seems to me that our government is determined to control every aspect of our lives. Will there be absolutely no freedom of choice in the future???

This is a tricky bill, because the large corporations need a good smack in the face. How to keep it from dealing a blow to local farmers is the question.

I didn't read the bill, but does it mention anything about taxing farmers for having cattle, pigs and or dairy cows?
It has to do with them (especially the dairy cows "emitting too much gas".
Glenn Beck had a guest who was discussing the above situation Emla999 mentions. There was talk and I don't know if it made it into the bill, but if you shopped at a farmers market you would have to sign a paper with your name on it stating what you bought.
That, to me, is weird and I wonder to what would it benefit the gov't.

There is a lot of fear mongering by interest groups. Does it make sense that Congress would pass a bill that would make it impossible to access locally grown food? No.
