Hi
Just wanted to see:
1) what treatments actually did work and,
2) get an idea of how long that treatment was used before being able to end it.

It'll give many of us hope and keep us going!

Hard to say which treatments worked, since I tried so many!!!

Biaxin was a great one for me!

Final treatment consisted of high doses of pulsed flagyl. If no herx, then you're good to go! Trust me, if you don't herx on high doses of flagyl, that's saying a LOT!!

I was also on a lot of different ABX and other meds but I ended my treatment with BiaxinXL. It was a pretty good ABX for me.

I was off everything for 6 months before symptoms started to creep back......chronic severe headaches, foot pain, twitching, profuse head sweats, low fever in morning.

Now I am back on BiaxinXL ~ 2 weeks worth and all symptoms are gone again HOWEVER I am herxing so bad this 2nd time around. BiaxinXL is kicking my butt.

I'm very near remission, been treating for 20 months.

Bart treatment brought me over the hump to wellness. Rifampin along with septra cleared my remaining air hunger, severe breathing difficulties, insomnia, low cortisol, and stamina issues. I can now work hard all day, go to sleep and wake up the next day feeling fine and do it all over again.

Been treating it for 5 months. Got the most improvement in month 2 and 3.

Up for more answers from those in remission?

Thanks xoxoxoxoxoxoxo, this seems a useful way to re-phrase the What worked for you question.

5 years continuous tx:
Minocycline, Flagyl, Mepron (3 rounds), occasional Azith for arthritis.

2 years off and on mino until stablized. Off all tx for ~15 mos. now.

What does a LLMD do? Ask patient which antibiotic

made them them the sickest and prescribe?

my protocol was basically monotherapy (one abx at a time). i never experienced a noticeable 'herx.'

i seemed to progressively get better with few setbacks.

first 2 rounds of doxy, (1r) biaxin, (4r) zithromax and at the end (2r) rifampin.

approximate treatment time: 9 months, diagnosed after 6 months of being sick. my llmd claims my treatment was very short.

i also rested when tired and as i felt better, i exercise. i feel this was also a key to improvement.

i transitioned from traditional abx to TOA Prima Una DeGato after abx, and currently still taking a very minimal dose.

still taking probiotics, vitamins, magnesium, super b complex, immune booster and herbal antifungals.

been abx free since January 09.

First time remission: came with herbs (mostly Buhner and some of Cowden) and homeopathics.

Second time remission (now): it came with photons and homeopathic nosodes.

I'm without lyme treatment since April or May, and so is my daughter. No treatment against borrelia whatsoever, not even herbs or homeopathics.

Lymetoo -

Flagyl with the Biaxin did you mean? What doses of each?

I've heard anywhere from 1000mg daily to 2000mg of Flagyl daily called high. Biaxin I've heard 1000mg up to 2000mg daily as high dose?

What brought it home for you?

Primelady,

Funny you mention that.

When I told my LLMD today that the worst reaction I've ever had was before I saw him I treated H Pylori with Clarythromycin and Amoxcicillan and herxed my *** to the hospital.

He goes, "Hmmm really?"

Then made note of it. lol

D'oh! what was I thinking telling him that : )
