JUST RECEIVED ELISA AND WESTERN BLOT RESULTS, ELISA 1.56 NEGATIVE IGG BUT REATIVE/POSITIVE TO IGM BANDS 23 AND 41. DOES ANYONE HAVE INPUT ON THIS? DOES THIS MEAN DEFINATE POSITIVE RESULTS FOR LYMES? HAVE HAD SEVRAL SYMPTOMS FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS OR IS THIS A FALSE POSITIVE? THANKS

No doubt you have Lyme IMO. I'd seek a LLMD for help/treatment.

I would say yes to Lyme also. And seek a LLMD.

If you are still in doubt you can do a antibiotic

challenge and retest with Igenex for a better

picture. They did request no antibiotics in system

for at least 10 days and a LLMD can help you with

this also. My first test was only reactive on one

band unable to identify and this was in 07 and I

went on to not being able to walk. So I would not

dismiss this as I did not know this until March

09 when I picked up my old records to take to my LLMD.

Dear ohioRN,
I only had one positive band as well. It was on the 41kDa band on the IgM. I also had two IND bands on the 41kDa on the IgG and the 31kDa on the IgM. This appears to be a bit suspicious. An LLMD feels I do have Lyme.

Sincerely,
Jin

Hi and welcome,

Please read the western blot info on page 7 of Dr B's paper:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Remember that testing for Lyme is very poor, so do not be fooled by any results that Dr's tell you are negative.

You should find a good LLMD who follows ILADS guidelines.

There is so much to learn about lyme and possible tick borne coinfections that you may also have.

Start reading the above paper and other info on the following sites...

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/about_lyme.html

http://www.lymepa.org/Basics2007v1.2Rev.pdf

http://www.lymediseaseassociation.org/

There is so much more info that you should eventually read.

You will learn alot by reading posts here and posting questions.
