at night in bed I have been getting severe chest pressure, fast heartbeat, and air hunger, that is only relieved by MASSIVE belches. This goes on for hours, into the wee small hours.
I seem to have cyclic episodes of this. It is very disrupting, uncomfortable and hinders sleep.
I have been gluten free, lactose free, sugar free, for months. This stuff seems to appear out of the blue.
Experiences? Explanations? The gas is releaseed in man sized beer belches, while constantly switching from right to left side in a supine position.
Weird! My diet is clean, clean, clean.

I wish I knew what to tell you.
I have started getting intermittent bouts of extreme stomach/chest pain and gas that actually isn't relieved by belching or passing gas.
It feels like gas, but it's 100 times worse.
The first time, i almost sent my son to get the neighbor because I was on the floor and couldn't move because of the pain.

The fast heart beat, air hunger, and chest pressure sounds like babesia. Have you started mepron again? I have no idea about the belching. Do you have any nausea associated with it? Have you tried any antacids? Hope you feel better soon. Marcie

I have chest pressure with the feeling of choking in my throat, and I also belch man size belches which relieves my symptoms for about 2 seconds.
My regular GP put me on prilosec 2x a day. He thinks I have esophagitis, inflammation in the esophagus and all the way up to my throat. My Uvula is swollen, thingy in the back of throat.
I am going to run this by my LLMD at my next appointment in 2 weeks.
You mention cyclic episodes, that is how this use to be for me, but lately it just stays.
I wonder if it is inflammation caused by LD?

Could it be your gallbladder? You might try a coffee enema or colon cleanse....seriously. Also, eating beets or beet juice seems to help clean up the gallbladder.
Those things worked for me.

Have you started a new treatment?

TY for the thoughts everyone. I have been on detox tinctures for about 1 1/2 months. I juice beets and various other veggies daily, I do liver support. I am on Mepron and Zithromax.
After last nights belching marathon.....11:00 to 3:45 am, when I took my morning meds, I could FEEL the capsules slowwwwwwwly sliding down my esophagus and it burned like crazy!
Just had gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, scan all normal.
I am thinking reflux maybe. The gas and associated pressure, I just do not understand. Folks, I am talking painful, like my whole chest cavity has been pumped up with gas and it is pressing on my heart and lungs....crazy!
And not very feminine Last time this happened I was scoped and had a stomach emptying test and all was well *sigh*.
Sorry some of you are having some thing similar. SGirl, I feel bad for you, you have been choking for a long time now!

Belching in the supine position is routine gut herxing for me on the MP so I'm use to that. The other symptoms I am not use to having to deal with.

Okay, did a Google search on: Gas Pressure upper chest. Health Boards Digestive Disorders suggest that it is a lack of magnesium.
Also says that magnesium or lack thereof can affect the esophagus as well. SOmeone recommended taking mag throughout the day and a homepathic called Magnesia Phos 6x. The sufferer on this board benefitted immediately from these two things.
I quit taking magnesium a month or so ago....thought that it was feeding babs.....back on for me. I will get the homeopathic remedy as well and see if it works.
SouthernGirl and Starfall, worth a shot.

I've had choking sensation for years with this. I love Zypan from www.standardprocess.com. It is the only thing that works. It is hydrochloric acid. Your local chiropracter might sell it. Lately I have had terrible gas from the abx. Maalox Advanced, maximum strength, antacid and antigas (local store) helps a lot!
