Does anyone else's neck get hot, very hot to the touch, on occasion? I don't have fever and am not on abx....just taking a bunch of supplements like Curcumin, CoQ10, DRibose, NT Factor, fish oil...
The back of my neck about every 5 days gets incredibly hot to the touch...
Does this happen to anyone else and do you know what causes it?

My neck gets very hot also. I think it is the Babesia.

I get very hot through shoulders/neck and then sometimes it almost feels like I have an icy hot patch on. Got it real bad when I first started the abx, but still get it now.
How come you aren't taken abx? You got a secret you're not sharing? Posted by IckyTicky (Member # 21466) on :
Yes. My LLMD always feels the back of my neck. When it's hot he says thats where the bacteria is concentrated or something of that nature. He was pleased at my last visit that the back of my neck was normal temp.

Thanks so much for the responses...I wish I had a special secret, Ladeedah
....I'm not on abx anymore because I decided to take a break from them after 3 1/2 years of orals and IV....
I'm kind of wondering if all of this Curcumin I'm taking is causing some form of die-off (giving me the hot neck feeling)....
When you have the "hot neck" do you also feel waves of nausea or weakness?

Funny you should mention that. I had such a problem with heat at a recent visit with my speech therapist. He cleverly soaked a towel in cold water and put it around my neck.
After awhile he removed it and it was very warm. So he resoaked it. It was amazing how much better I felt! Neither of us could believe how warm that towel became!
So now I often put a wet towel around my neck...very comforting in the heat.

It may be Morgellons disease?

Bugg -- whats is Curcumin? Is that a supplement from the list?
At work, so I don't have in front of me right now.

Thanks for all of the thoughts...
Ladeedah, yes, curcumin is a supplement...
I think it might be the curcumin as I just read that it increases glutathione levels and has antiparasitic and antibacterial qualities....I speculate that I may be mobilizing toxins....
I remember feeling "flu-like" with a hot neck on NAC (which increases glutathione)(detoxifier).....who knows.....
Yes, Farraday, I can relate to the towel being heated from the heat from your neck....
wish we all knew why this happens....

I had occasional hot neck, slight nausea prior to my 2 mo. of oral (Doxy ) and then: 3 mo. of I.V. Roceph. , and followed by 4mo. Doxy. .... now I've stopped the Doxy for 3 weeks and the 'Hot neck, nausea, dizzyness" (very close to the point of passing out) has been increasingly occuring... to 3x, 4x per day, but passing within 5 minutes. I'll be back on I.V. Rochephin soon; but I'm concerned that since it's obvious this regimen is a 'fail', I hope to convince my LLMD to change-up the chemical game, and I'm searching for a 'hotter' therapeutic menu - this time. While the 8+month therapy wiped out my joint inflammation, improved my mobility, it did little as far as my gaining any weight, and it's dubious whether it has had a positive change on CNS issues (read: MS/Alz.), and, along with the 'hot neck', small intestine sensitivity/swelling has become worse too.

Berkeley-thanks so much for finding this thread! Yes, my neck feels feverish hot.
My non LL doc gives me injections, and comments on the heat coming from my spine and base of skull every time.
Calls it a fever.
It gets worse at the end of the day and when I have head pain.
Now that you mention it...it is one of those symptoms that is NOT getting better.
Sigh.

Starting last Summer, I've been sweating profusely from my upper back & neck when I sleep. I don't get fevers, my temp is rarely above 97.4 degrees F. I don't know why I sweat there (and only there, when sleeping...). Would love to know what's doing this...it's really annoying...
