Maybe it's killing off fungus in the gut but I only started yesterday and already I"m feeling significantly worse, VERY flu-like, fatigued like mad, etc.

I am using the Pekana detox remedies, lemon water, etc.

Anyone else experience this when they first started Nystatin? Seems like I react to everything other people don't...sigh.

Sounds like you needed it btmb. Sorry you are

feeling worse, but I think you will be better later

for it. I started at 400 diflucan to 800 a day now

on 400. Start slower if it makes you sick and ramp

up to kill then maintain.

Since my doses of abx are small I didn't think it would pack such a punch..obviously I was wrong.

Thx for your input Pinelady and hope the Diflucan is helping you!

Well, I did have a herx on diflucan, no matter what others on the site said, it really brought me down.

I got over the herx, but it was bad for me. The diflucan killed off so much yeast that I was sick!!

But, I think in the long run it will help me.
Good luck,
Shalome

Very interesting. For me, nystatin has been a candy pill. No benefit, no reactions, not sure why I take it. I had an allergist laugh at me for taking it. I guess we're all so different. Diflucan on the other hand always makes me feel better. [Smile]

My LLMD wants you to get up to 16 tablets of nystatin daily. [Smile] Didn't do that.

Nystatin doesn't seem to do much for me. I wonder why I take it.

Probably because I worry I'll be worse w/o it, and I'm too afraid to find out for real!

Yes, I herxed badly on nystatin. Felt achy, flu-like and tired. Gave me bad muscle cramps.

I stopped it for a week and it got better.

It did take me a whole week for the herxing to stop.

When I restarted it, I took a really low dose and ramped up slowly.

Good luck!

Remember that Nystatin is not absorbed into the blood, so it will only work in your digestive system. If you have big yeast problems, Diflucan is the better option.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I wonder if I was experiencing a herx which coincided with my starting Nystatin..maybe, maybe not.

I find Diflucan pretty strong so as y'all said maybe Nystatin might work better as it stays in the gut.
