Yes, I've posted about this in the past as well...the new curcumin I've just started taking, Longvida curcumin, is helping with this....www.longvida.com....

Others on this board have had success with Zyflamend...Wobenzym

The inflammation with lyme disease can be horrible...

I took curcumin and bolouke.

My calves used to be so tight I was stuck in 2 in heels all the time.

Now I walk flat footed with ease.

Good luck.

Do you take magnesium? It's on Dr. b's supplement list and really helps with muscle tightness, as well.

My Calfs were the only muscle that gave me troble, not so much since been on 2 months abx.

One calf in particular if I just moved the wrong way it was like I had pulled it and it bothered me for days but would repair itself.

SOmetimes both calfs were affected. When I was on Doxi the thigh area had tightness like it needed a good stretch.

Not sure what answer to give you for help but just to let you know I did also experience this oddity.

I had crippling calf cramps for almost a year, and after this all came to a climax, I fell apart for awhile.

I then realized that I was having an adverse reaction to plaquenil.

You can go back in medical questions here to July and find my discussion on bionic 880. IN it, I detail the process by which I figured out that plaquenil was the cause of my trouble.

The calf cramps can be a symptom of cardiovascular problems, which for me, were brought on by plaquenil.

This is not the case for everybody. In fact, most people do fine with plaquenil, but no doctor detected this cause before I did, and I saw many both in the U.S. and in Europe.

Of course I do not know if you are even taking plaquenil, but I think the lesson is that you could have an unexpected vascular problem from a medication that might cause calf cramps.

Hope that helps.

I get these pains every now and then.

Of course, my anxiety kicks in and I start thinking that I have a blood clot or embolism (whatever they're called)--

I had several friends who have died from those--and I'm not that old.

They usually just seem to go away eventually.

Last week, it seems I pulled a muscle behind my knee--pain, swelling, could hardly walk some days--and the pains are back again.

The calf pain was my second symptom after the bulls eye rash. It hurt to walk on it, thought I had a clot too. LOL

After I started taking the supplements on Dr. B's list it got better (I felt a little better too) as well as upping my Doryx.

I still get the twinges though every so often. I'm a newbie to all this so I'm hoping they stay only twinges and don't come back full force.

Especially if the LLMD I see in September decides to change my meds.

Yes, I have this. And I posted about it before and barely got any replies.....

I have heard this is a Bartonella symptom. I've had it pretty badly. I still get it, but it's not as bad as it was. I also get shin splints.

Hi,

I also am experencing this for the last 6 mo. My calve muscels and from the knee down hurts and feels weak.

I get scared also. Afraid I won't be able to walk. My Doc was treating me for bartenella and backed off for 2 weeks because I was doing so poorly. He thought I was having to much die off.

I am on ceftin and he will add rafampin (sp) back slowly.

Muscle relaxers help alittle. But they make me sleepy and I work during the day. I am going to try curcumin.

In the evenings I will drink a little tonic water and this seems to help a little.

For me, magnesium is the key. When I take it regularly the pain goes away.

When I start taking it again, it goes away within a few days.

Good luck and hope you feel better =)
