Was reading an excerpt from Dr. K S. book "The Lyme Solution" and it he says he feels he can safely take his patients off abx when their CD57 is back to normal.
So, Mine is back in the therapeutic range but I have never felt worse with the Lyme.
Am I so sick because my NK cells are now attacking the infection on it's own ?
Tried just 2gm of Salt/C this morning and got immediate air hunger. Some are telling me to treat, but I swear I don't feel like I can tolerate a Herx right now because I feel like I'm already in one, as in constant.
So Lost......

I think the test is a pretty worthless indicator of disease progression honestly based on most accounts here. It's speculation.

I don't put much stock in the CD57 test.
Treatment should be determined by how you feel, not by a number on a contriversial test.

The test has a lot of variation day to day and even at different times of day.
The increase you see in your 2 levels is not enough to be significant.

If there is any connection between Lyme and parasites - and I think, it IS! - then it would be interesting to have a look to your reactions in dependece with the moon.
Don's laugh please! I'm now sick for nearly 10 years, and some day I started to make little notices in pocket calendar, every time, I felt extremely sick.
At the beginning, I didn't recognize that there was a connection with full moon or new moon. I noticed that much later, when I took my old calendars and looked for my notices. And then I recognized that every time round full moon or new moon I had my worst times.
I wish you soon recovery!

If your right than I pray for half moons every day :-)
Not laughing at you as I now believe anything is possible in this world after having this.
I have thrown Western Medicine out the window and have opened my eyes to the spiritual and natural world.

Hi LT,
Just posted to your thread re: Candida; this is likely why you feel so bad.
The others are right - CD 57 is worthless in relation to your progress with Lyme.

There is a 3 mos. waiting period to see this Dr. or more perhaps last time I checked.
Why would he write this in his book. I hear you and agree with you based on how I'm feeling.
Is this just another example of how on LLMD sees things different from another ?

Hi again, LT -
Not sure exactly who you are talking to regarding these questions, but can only give you my responses...
Re: 3 month or more waiting period... Answer: Virtually ALL docs who treat TBD are so in demand, a waiting period of any length is the norm.
Re: Why would he write this in his book? Answer: Don't know exactly. The CD57 craze has been running for years now and all I can tell you from knowing so many different people with TBD, by itself, the CD57 means nothing.
Re: Example of how different LLMD's see things? Answer: Yes. Find the one that suits you.
On an additional note. I've no doubt of the parasitic connection to immunocompromised pts, but you very, very obviously have a candida problem. Solve that one first, then move to others. Just my opinion.
Best to you. I know how difficult it is.

hey y'all
CD 57 actually DOES work for some of us. Although, just because it is higher, doesn't mean you are over the lyme and can stop abx. You treat till you are better
I am going through something similar LT, my CD 57s jumped up and I am feeling worse. Doc says that my immune system is finally recovering, and its going after lyme and causing more inflamation

I have yet to see compelling research the the CD57 tells **** about lyme, please educate me...

Dr. B. says the CD-57 does not rise steadily during treatment but jumps once the infection is under control.

I wish I could educate you Losferwrds...sorry. No proof of anything here. Just a test my ID doc ordered. lol. There are no good tests. We know that!
