Massage can bring out toxins and make you feel worse because of the increase in flowing toxins in your body.

Are you in treatment? Massage would only have a temporary effect, shouldn't actually make you worse long term.

I think that if you can afford to do massage frequently over a period of time, it could help. But it is expensive. Doing it acutely for short-term pain might make things worse.

I am having the same problem with massage by my physical therapist. A few years ago, I stopped because of the effects. But this time, I am persisting and after a few terrible weeks of pain and weird neuro stuff, am now improving.

Physical therapy is covered by insurance, so maybe, if money is an issue, you could go to a PT who does a lot of manual work.

I think so! I had a massage back in March, and literally several hours after the massage, I got WAY worse. It lasted for several days. I think it does get the toxins flowing and stirs things up.

Deep tissue massage should be avoided. Buhner's book says massage is essential and should not be considered a luxury. Try going to someone trained in lymphatic drainage.

the key to massages .... DRINK LOTS OF WATER AFTERWARD FOR NEXT 24 HOURS....

i too was having monthly massages... VERY LIGHT as my body is in 24/7 pain in all 18 of 18 tender, pressure points.

sometimes it would really help me, and another time it got really bad. it was at that time i went for hip xrays which showed my 1 hip needed to be replaced and was ....

i've not had any full massages yet, BUT 2 days ago won $25 gift certificate for one.....so i'll get a 30 minute one paying $5 more vs. $60 for an hour.

yes, they are expensive especially if they don't last you at least 1-2 weeks!!

my 1st one was on my birthday, my gift to myself, and i told woman i had fibro bad, and she insisted on REIKI, worst yet, and i was crying entire time.

never again, if they won't listen to you; have them stop and walk out without paying! [cussing] [tsk]

rn,

please send me a private message, it's the 2 people standing together, to right of my name...

please give me full name of infectious dr. and city/state you plan to go to ... some do help us; rest make us worse by UNDERTREATING from 1 pill to 3 wks. max saying you will be CURED.

NOPE, you become chronic; they don't believe in chronic lyme.
