Hi,

I keep getting soar throats that seem to last

a few days then fade. Wondering if this could

be a herx or something?

Also, my most annoying problem is that when I

talk (even when I don't have soar throat) my

vocal cords feel strained and my throat

tightens up. Basically it hurts to talk and I'm

starting to feel self conscious.

I've been on treatment for a little over a

year, lots of improvements but this newer

symptom is driving me nuts! Thanks for your

input:)

It could be acid reflux. I was told that some people don't really get heartburn but have throat symptoms from reflux.

I have this too. It is a strain to talk. My throat also feels like it is closing up half the time. Has been this way for about 8 months.

I have been treating for 16 months. Mine has gotten worse lately, yet my other symptoms have slightly improved.

Been taking prilosec for 6 weeks and it hasn't helped.

I think it might be irritated cranial nerves. No one seems to take it seriously, however it scares me to death.

Thanks Connie, I will look into that!

Sutherngirl- Are you treating babs? Wondering if it could be related to that vs. the lyme.

I think I have the same thing you describe. Sometimes my throat will start to feel a little tight and I have difficulty speaking in a normal voice and can only whisper.

I have attributed it to Babesia because it often happens after I've taken my Babs meds. My senses tell me it's a Babesia herx, but it doesn't happen every time.

This happened to me too last fall, mostly not so much any more. It was like my throat was strained like I was talking in a strained voice. It was a little irritating but wouldn't last long.

Maybe had it one day for a while then not have it for a while then have it again for a day or so.

I noticed this before I had dx. Had bite in 8/08 dx 6/09 I notice my eyes watering and this strained throat before any of other symptoms. I thought it was allergies.

I guess this is another symptom that we all possibly share.

I know what you are saying, probably different degrees of strain for each of us. Mine was like my voice box was strained but I never really sounded any different. It felt raw for a while after but never lasted longer than a day.

Another odd symptom we share [Roll Eyes]

I have the same thing. It got worse when I started treatment. I have no idea what it is from.
