I've slowly been adding supplements to try to improve my health and yesterday for the first time I took 250 mg of Acetyl L-Carnitine.
Later in the day I noticed I was all wired up and my stomach began hurting. I often have abdominal pains on the left side but yesterday it felt like fireworks going off inside of me.
I also felt anxious or over stimulated and got a headache too. Could this be from the ALC?
Has anyone had a bad experience from taking this? I read on Dr. Ray Sahelian's website that he feels people should not take more than 300 mg a few times a week.
Comments?

You need to take ALCAR (Acetyl L-Carnitine) with ALA(Alpha Lipoic Acid, mitochondrial antioxidant).
It can also have a powerful stimulant effect, so you may need to get used to it ...

I takep plain ALCAR powder 3-5 g at a time . It does tast like powdered acid - I have to mix it cider to be consumable (water nor orange juice do not work!), so I guess might upset stomach. Was not the case with me though
Are you sure that 300 mg applies to acetyl-l-carnitine? I know ALA is typically taken in that amount . ALCAR is pretty popular supplement and I know there are widely used protocols with up 5-10 grams of it

Is acetyl-l-carnitine and N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine the same thing?
