i started taking massive doses of probiotics... not on any meds at the moment..

and noticed after a few weeks, then when i uped the dosage of probiotics to 20+ a day i got really achy..

still am and i'm wondering can probiotics have any affect on lyme bacteria...

ugh.. or anyone ever experience this just on probiotics? its freaking me out.. so achy.. like i'm getting the flu but i'm not sick.

i should mention ALL stool tests i've ever had always come back negative for candida...

but i did test positive for B. Microti (barely positive though).. not sure if that has something to do with it.

thanks

I don't think the word herx is the word to use. You herx from anti-spirochete drugs. Watch how loosely you guys use the word herx. Look up the definition. Probiotics are meant to replenish your gut flora. Maybe it is some kind of reaction, not sure.

Probiotics help kill off Candida. In massive quantities as your taking, I would think you could be doing this.

It is well documented that killing off Candida does cause the Herx reaction.

I went through similar trying to treat my own Candida, was on nothing else and was Herxing bad.

I was doing PB's and eliminated all sugars from my diet. I didn't stay on this regimen for long as it made me so sick and emotional.

I just realized that I have a candida problem--never did a stool test but have had a number of different rashes break out in the last couple months after stopping nystatin. Other symptoms included racing thoughts, vivid nightmares, and extreme joint and muscle pain.

I've now gone back on the nystatin and have increased probiotics a lot--I definitely feel a die off like (won't call it herx) reaction with the increased probiotics.
