Hi, I read here the other day about someone being diagnosed with this by the Vet in N.C. Well I was tested also by this Vet and my blood showed this same Bartonella species. Does anyone know anything about this strain? What would get rid of it? Are all Bartonella strains subject to the same antibiotics? I have been on ACS 200 for 6 months. there is some improvement but not enough for me. My LLMD says he has had success with 5 people using this. Also, I have read that this strain is zoonotic. Does this mean it is usually found in animals? Boy am I confused and I don't see my Dr. for 5 more weeks. Thanks, Jessielee

The strain is carried by dogs and coyotes and transmitted by ticks.

Not all Bartonella strains are responsive to the same antibiotics and for now, there is no reliable way to test for it. The standards are not set and what works in the lab does not neccessarily work in the patient.

I believe ACS is colloidal silver.

What type of test is the vet in NC using?

And how does one go about getting tested?

I must have missed something along the way about this one, but am really interested.

Thanks!

Bactrim DS has helped my Bartonella henselae more than anything else.

Or at least, it "seems to." I haven't retested. My brain is a lot more clear now. I had some big time herxing on Bactrim.

I didn't see it mentioned, so that's why I bring it up. In the past, I'd tried Zithromax with Plaquenil (which may have helped some), Rifampin with Mino and Zith at one point, and Cipro.
