As I am waiting to get in to see a doctor I have had problems with many things but the one that is driving me crazy is twitching on the right side of my body- face, arm and leg...
Im scared of the face twitching...
Any advice on how to deal with this?
Will it ever go away?
Would starting antibiotics help it?

Many people with lyme have muscle twitching. I have it everywhere. It comes and goes. Some days it's worse than others. Yes, depending on your body and other things, going on the antibiotics could help it while killing off the lyme.

I have muscle twitching in my legs mostly. Before I got on abx, I couldn't lay on my side with my legs on top of each other because they would just bounce off each other. When I started on abx, it improved very quickly to the point it was almost unnoticeable.
My muscle twitching has been helped by zith, biaxin, and now ceftin and Levaquin. Doxy did not help me.

I didn't get it till I started treatment. And some days are worse than others. Some days I am free of it. But it was worst in the beginning. Sorry I can't offer more.

Are you taking magnesium supplements? If not, you may be low on magnesium and that will cause muscle twitching.

Yes, take magnesium, it's likely to help.

Make sure you are taking a good quality magnesium supplement! Mag Malate, or MagTab SR. It stops the twitching. When you start antibiotics, the twitching may get worse as you herx. In any case, it helps.

I have body wide muscle twitching and so does my teen daughter. My husband, 8 yr old and 6 yr old have facial twitching mostly..but they get it elsewhere too. My twin sister has body wide muscle twitching. We all have Lyme Disease.

You guys can also try magnesium injections. They burn a little bit when you do the shot, but they really help. If you are on IV you can get IV mag sulfate as well. Keep taking the magnesium supplements while on shots/IV.

- To keep magnesium sulfate shots from burning like blazes, add injectable B-12 to the syringe.
I learned the hard way - the first doctor did not tell me but I'm so glad the second one did. -
