I have been having lyme-like symptoms for the past 7 months or so. I found a good LLMD in my area and my Western Blot test is on its way to Igenx.

Among the long list of symptoms is a numb sensation in my right cheek, however my smile looks fine. I am guessing this is Bell's Palsy?

If so, is it usually temporary? Does it come and go? Does it go away with treatment?

This symptom is the most concerning out of all of them.

It should go away with treatment since it sounds like a "touch" of Bell's Palsy.

Don't let a dr suggest steroids for it!! It will make the Lyme worse!

Hang in there and do lots of reading here while you wait!!

I get a numb sensation that is different from Bell's Palsy. When I had Bell's Palsy, I could not move my eyebrow or close my eye or smile despite INCREDIBLE effort (I thought I had a stroke). BP can present differently, but I think it's possible to have numbness that is separate from BP.

I had a bad case of Bells Palsy. Make certain and eliminate any dental infections.

I am totally well now, but it took a few years.

Take care.

I had BP. Oddly enough, I've bee told that bilateral BP (both sides) like I had are uncommon except for Lyme.

I had a tingling on my face for close to a week and then discovered I looked a bit different. The muscle changes in my face are only noticeable to foks who know me well. Others haven't noticed.

Yep, I've had Bells before that lasted over a month. My husband has it for the second time right now.

I was talking to my roommate today and for some reason he has the exact same BP symptoms? Any ideas?
