My ears have always ached since getting sick feels like I have an ear infection but I never do.

Well last night I woke up to horrible ear/jaw pain ever. The pain was behind the earlobe and ran down into my jaw line. Stabbing sharp pains.

Today my ear/jaw is still huring pretty bad. I'm also getting the weird numbness/twitching/tingling in the left side of face too.

what is this? Does anyone get the ear/jaw pain? What causes this?

Thanks.

Ear aches . . . and all sorts of ear discomfort are common for lyme patients.

When you awaken in pain, Is this for both your ears? The symptoms on the left side of your fact could be related if your left ear also hurts. But, TMJ inflammation can also be a trigger.
----

Is your magnesium level up to where it should be?

Are you taking some good supplement to help decrease inflammation (although magnesium will help with that)?

Gentle massage or cranial-sacral therapy may help - and attention TMJ - are you grinding your teeth at night? The fact that you woke up to this may indicate a connection.

Are you able to do non-aerobic exercise to get the lymph circulating - bounce ever so gently on a dense foam or mini-trampoline, a warm bath, a stroll around the block . . . these can help move lymph that may be stagnant. Some massage techniques help, too.

Perhaps applying a warm, moist hand towel to that area will help. And watch the way you carry your head on your shoulders as when we are tired we tend to let our head slide out of good alignment.

Finally, allicin capsules seem to help me with this - in addition to magnesium. They work differently but both are sure my life-savers to my ears.

You might also need to change your pillow for one with good neck support.

Avoiding gluten, corn and dairy is a good idea as those are known phlegm producers and the ears seem to get it first.

The allicin will help cut the phlegm but so will a hot Chinese mustard or that hot green paste, wasabi. Curcumin may also be a great help to you to decrease inflammation that may be contributing to this.

Yes the pain right now is in my left ear. It's really hurting... it's not like it's in my ear it's under/behind it (aligned from my jaw line). My left eye is hurting too. Something isn't right. Hurts.

I'm not even taking Mag right now...just ordered some though...

Why does the lyme cause this?

This is the same for me too - constant, for years and on both sides. Sometimes it's so bad it feels like I've been hit in the side of the head with a baseball bat.

My bottom jaw hangs slack and my back cheeks feel like Don Corleone [Smile]

It's hard to say what it is or what it's from - Bell's palsy, lymphatic, tri-geminal nerve?

There was an article on here just the other day about Lyme settling in near the wisdom teeth or where the wisdom teeth were if they have been removed. I'll see if I can find it again.

Are you treating for Babesia or just Lyme?

I have had this chronic and my LLMD found that I have a couple chronic viruses like flu and coxsacee .... not sure how to spell that one?

I also have muscular trigger points in my muscles on my head, neck, and jaw from chronic muscle tension. All of this just adds to the pain, it does feel like a bad ear infection.

I've had all of those symptoms, but they've mostly gone away w/antibiotics. Personally, I think a lot (but not all) of the symptoms were caused by Babesia.

I get that same ear/jaw pain, also muscle twitches the run down my left eye and face and dental gum pain. Had two LLMDs tell me that Lyme likes to set up shop in many of your cranial nerves.

Bicillin shots have greatly readuced that symptom. Also have Babs.

Have you told the doc? If not, might be good to make sure you don't have something else
