While killing the spirochetes, is it normal to have days that the pains return?
Last week I posted that things were going well for me and I was heading into the last weeks of my 30 days of antibiotics.
Then last night I was awoken with that arthritis like pain in my toes. Today I am having a bit of pain in my hands again. From what I've been reading diet can have some effect.
I am a bit of a carb lover (pasta, rice, etc) and from the PDF files I've read, carbs are not a good thing. Hm? Do I want to feed the little buggers and give them a sugar high? No.

jsjag - Stop eating all those carbs!!!! You're likely giving yourself a heck of a yeast infection!
Break out the Diflucan (Fluconazole) and take acidophilus a couple hours after the Diflucan.

I've also been eating a lot of yogurt and taking my probiotics trying to stave off the yeast. I can be a good meat / protein eater too. Is cheese ok?

Generally, cheese is okay. Re: Yogurt; be careful it's not the fruited or flavored kind that contains lots of sugar.
No kidding, you're going to have to change your diet radically, or you'll get sicker than you are now. I've been off abx almost 2 yrs and still have problems with yeast. (For me : Iced Cream = Death [but what a way to go!])

jsjag, aside from the yeast - many people experience a significant herx around the 28th - 30th day of abx.
So you may be having a herx - that's what it sounds like to me.
Also - are you planning to continue abx until all symptoms are gone?
That would be your best bet.
30 days may or may not be enough.
Are you seeing an LLMD?

SO yeast problems will/can give you joint pains? I'm having no GI problems.
I don't plan on staying on antibiotics after 30 days but will keep up with my Andographis, oregano oil and teas.
Forty miles from me is a doc that works with the Amish and treats without antibiotics. I had one guy tell me the doc worked wonders with his son. Also apparently the Amish have a big problem with Lyme. I guess because they are out physically working in the environment, not sitting up on tractors and other equipment.

Glad you have a plan to continue treating beyond 30 day of abx - I certainly don't think abx are the only way to rid ourselves of Lyme.
You're fortunate to have someone so experienced close by. Nice.
My yeast problems (when they arise) consist of more brain fog, tired feelings... some GI issues. Not sure about yeast causing joint pain.

In my experience, when Lyme converts to Spirochete form, joint pain symtoms start at the same time.
