Hi all, I've had this started since June, but in a mild way.
Right now my nose is really congested and it doesn't let me sleep.
Weird thing is it only happens at night... daytime I'm just fine!
I read here a lot about people having nasal congestion for different reasons but I never read about someone only having it at one certain point of the day!
I actually changed my abx at the end of the summer (rifampin, bicillin and levaquin to Doxy and Levaquin), so it's not like this coincided with me starting new abx.
I can't take over the counter meds. Afron you can use only short term. Others I can't take because of anxiety issues...
I wonder if anyone has any idea what it could be. Thanks in advance!

sing,
i used search to try to find my posts about this but without any success.
do you have sleep apnea where you stop breathing? i got a CPAP machine, and that has helped me ELIMINATE MY NIGHT TIME ONLY congestion!!
during daylight hours, i'll come back and tell you what RX meds i have for congestion at night time. tired .... Posted by dguy (Member # 8979) on :
I had that nightly for the better part of 10 years, but generally just one nostril would get plugged. Sometimes it would also occur during the day if I attempted to read. Finally with general lyme treatment the symptom has greatly reduced this year.
I found some help from nasal strips like Breathe Right. What worked better was a spray of Afril. Careful with Afril though as your body becomes addicted to it. I restricted myself to a single small spray of it at bedtime such that one small bottle lasted about 2 years.

Have you tried just a saline spray? Or a neti pot to clean you out?
I have a prescription for Flonase that I use daily and it keeps the congestion away, for the most part.

Maybe try NasalCrom? It's a mast cell inhibitor nasal spray, OTC, and no steroids. Takes a while to work (several weeks), but it seems to help. Very low to no side effects ever reported.
