i feel pretty stupid as i have not recognized any of the signs for candida and now i have it really badly. I had candida five years ago and did the antifungals and diet it took me six months and I vowed i would never be in that situation again.
I have been taking 20billion mixed probiotic two hours after every antibiotic dose even though they are fairly expensive i just found out they were not the kind that multiply or so they said.
I have temporarily stopped taking the antibiotics and am currently taking an intensive probiotic 1 week treatment, when this is done i would like to use a natural easy to use (brain fog) yeast killer.
there are so many products and of course each one is supposedly the best on the market.
would really appreciate all responses on what has worked for you so that i can pick a good one.
thank you maps

Hi: Candex did the trick for me. I order it from Nutrition Geeks. I had yeast so bad that even the scripts were not working. I take it daily and my probiotics and have had no problem (thank God) ever since. I hope this helps. I hate that you are feeling so bad- yeast is no fun.

Coconut oil is a very powerful antifungal, antiparasitic and antibacterial.
Kefir is also a very good probiotic and immune system builder,
Gael
Gael, a couple of months ago I took about a 1/4 tsp of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and was sick for the rest of the day. It was very powerful going down my stomach. Any reason for that?

Gary, do you have candida? Perhaps the die-off was too strong.
I agree - coconut oil and kefir (preferably homemade). Also komubucha. Raw sauerkraut. The fermented foods contain both probiotics and prebiotics (food for probiotics so they can populate the gut) in addition to enzymes.
Cut out simple carbs.
Also check out oil of oregano.

Mixed herbals specific for yeast you have tried ?
Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :
what's a mixed herbal????
Posted by massman (Member # 18116) on :
By mixed I do not mean "these 16 things are good for the liver so let's throw 'em all together !" ]Because one that stimulates may knock out the effect of one that sedates and you get zero effect except an empty pocket.
Specific blendeds (specific in what PARTS of the herb are used, WHAT herbs are used and specific AMOUNTS are used) have been designed to help specific organs. Help them detox, work better and HEAL !
So with proper application of amount and time they should not be needed on an ongoing basis. An example: Some blended herbs for specific parasites are used for 2 to 4 weeks then as needed.
On this site many post about trying to deal with parasites for months + months + months + months........
As needed means all of us get reexposed to parasites and if you have not changed your internal terrain they WILL often come back.
Point here is many think herbals are all the same and they are not.
Not that it seems to make much of a difference here...

"Point here is many think herbals are all the same and they are not."
So Massman can you explain it for us. Are you a doctor? Do you use herbals as part of your Lyme protocol?

Just to add to the list of options, my LLMD put me on Phytostan (caprylic acid with cofactors) by Integrative for 90 days. I take 2 tablets 2 times a day. It really hit me hard the first few days. Starting my second bottle now and feeling better.

Abxnomore - As I have explained in another thread I have been a massage therapist for 25 years and a Chiropractic Physician for 21 years. In some states I have had licenses in the only things chiros cannot do is major surgery and treat infections.
And gotta be careful here as lately when I tried to explain the difference between what I perceive as real vitamins and partials I was told the PMs really flew, the thread was deleted by the one who started it and admin told me I was not supposed to upset someone.
All this occurred after I posted I was going to call another doc and ask about the vitamins he used.
IMO unless you change that internal terrain (what your internal chemistry is like from food, other toxins you are exposed to etc.) lyme and other coinfections will reassert themselves.
I have mentioned the sources of the mixed herbals I recommend (www.systemicformulas.com and www.innovita.com) and books about them I recommend but there has been very little interest.
Especially when I say they need to go through a doc or other health pro to access the mixed herbals. I feel most people cannot be really objective about themselves. I myself am guilty of that.
I have treated many patients for a large range of problems with the above mentioned mixed herbals. Have worked with autistic kids, ADHD, hormone imbalances, allergies.
Some LOL as I was introduced to Systemic Formulas by a doc that had studied a lot with Dr. Klinghardt. And the opinion of him here is high, which I absolutely agree with.
I was a rep for Systemic but resigned as my ability to travel was decreasing due to guess what ? A lyme flare as my habits got worse. Have returned to a mild liver / kidney support and detox program in the last few days. Some of my (what's that big word ?) cognitive dissonance / brain fog has had a good improvement after a few days.
Best explanation is in "New Dimensions in Herbal Healing" by Jack Tips PhD, ND. www.drjacktips.com , not sure if it is available at www.amazon.com
And no $$$ to me for recommending these products or recommending health pros that use them.

Gary,
If you had a reaction to the coconut oil, my guess is that it started killing the yeast when you took it.
I would try it again maybe in a smaller dose, but it sounds like it was working,
Gael

Remember that there is a difference between those things that KILL yeast and those that PREVENT yeast.
I feel your pain. I struggled mightily with candida for a long time. Let me know if you have any questions....

abxme - did you get NAET done to you ?
And if yes, where if you don't mind ?
I practiced NAET in Columbus for about 2 years.
Posted by abxme (Member # 2067) on :
I had NAET done in Boulder, Colorado. I found it to be extremely beneficial. There are some problems with it, like how slow it goes in sequence. I have come to the realization that you don't need to go in such a slow progression clearing only one allergy at a time. Regardless, there is a lot to be gained from the technique. Are you still practicing ?
Posted by Marnie (Member # 773) on :
VCO for sure.
Virgin coconut oil.
10 ounces of coconut milk - can be put in a "smoothie" as an easier way to take it. Once a day.

I bought Candex based on a prior post I saw.
Has anyone tried Candex and do you get the runs from it? I am trying to figure out if it is my current abx or this supplement that is bothering me.
abxme - can you buy Kolorex in the store.
Thanks,
Haley
Posted by abxme (Member # 2067) on :
I have seen Kolorex carried in some Health Food Stores. I think it depends on the region. A reputable store should be able to order it for you. I know on the West Coast ( Denver, AZ) I was able to procure at several different health food stores.
Hope it works for ya !!

abxme - am not currently prabticing due to a kind or tick-bourne illness...
Yes it can be slow - the basics are emphasized so much but some things can be combined. If you ever need someone that still does it.
He is a bit south of Berlin (Amish country) and is a very sharp one. Contact me if needed.

Candibactin AR. High doses.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I didn't know Kolorex was available at Vitacost!! Many years ago I had to order it straight from New Zealand!!

Tutu, I did not know that probiotics only prevent candida, and don't cure it.
I need to know if the other treatments can be used while on antibiotics. i'm currently on doxy and augmentin.

I did not know this. I thought you could take OLE as long as it was a few hours away from ABX. Do you mean you cannot take it at all?
