Is being low on Vit D test common with Lyme and how low were you when tested?

Being low is common for everyone, not just those with Lyme. Especially in areas of the country that have long winters. Sunscreen and the phobic attitudes toward skin cancer contribute, and also, many people work indoors and don't get much sun, even in the summer.

Mine had been 14, 18, numbers like that. I now have osteoporosis. I have not been able to go in the sun due to lupus/sun sickness/rash, for about 10 years, and wish my doctor had put me on vitamin D a long time ago.

I have a rash too but I have never tested positive for Lupus. I'm curious, what does your rash look like?

You may want to do a search here for vitamin D. It has many discussions that may help answer your questions.

Yes, and as I just mentioned in a different thread:

Please recall that there are two Vit. D tests, and Bb converts one type of Vit D (D25) into the other (D125).

You need to have both checked: typically D25 (which is the one usually tested) is low, and D1,25 will be high.

Best wishes,

Mine was 9, the regular VD in the system, not the converted form.
