HELP... Diagnosed a second time!
Tested positive for lyme in 2006. Went on doxy 8 weeks. All symptoms dissapeared. Thought I was cured.Started having pain in legs last summer. After a couple of monthes I saw my doctor who said the Lyme was back. I was first told that it was the original infection and later she said that I had been reinfected.I was told blood test showed a low positive. I knew that I had been bit prior to the first diagnoses. I was bit again 1 year later and was prescribed 2 doxy immediatly. Felt fine again. Now 2 years later took doxy for 3 weeks and symptoms continue to get worse. I am scheduled for blood test again in 2 weeks. Should I wait or demand a specialist sooner? So much leg pain today, didn't go to work can't stand it! Does anyone think the reinfection occured after the second bite two years ago?

Good afternoon Ms. Queen P,

So sorry you are feeling so icky!

While I am thinking about it.. may I ask you a question?

Were you crowned a lovely Queen because of your wonderful kind deeds?

Or...

Because you have had Lyme disease more times than anyone else?

[lol]

Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself.

First of all, depending on the tests to determine your treatment sould NOT even be a consideration.

Second, this could all be a result of the first tick bite... and/or a reinfection. No tests can determine this.

The more tests you have, BTW, the more chances of getting a negative.. which is a PERFECT way for an insurance company to deny you treatment.

So my advise is...

Tell the doc you need to be treated now. Doxy and Tindamax combo has been found, at the last LDA/ILADS conferences last week, to be the better to treat with initially.

Good luck, oh Queen of the Tick World!

[Big Grin]
