Twinkie,
I bought my Tick Twister at my Veterinarian. I think they are also sold on eBay. You can check pet stores too.
Make sure you get the "regular" Tick Twister which is a pack of 2, one big, one small. The small one gets the deer ticks. It should be about $5 or less.
Treepatrol,
I have that Protick also, I do NOT like it as much. All that one does is pry the tick out, breaking off the mouth parts in one's flesh.
The Tick Twister collapses the hooks that anchors the mouth parts in the skin so everything comes out smoothly! That's why it "twists" the tick out. Really brilliant.
There are videos on the website and on Youtube that show how it works.

Tree,
it just pries them out, right? How does it release the little hooks? The hooks are so strong that the mouth parts rip off the tick before they will let go.

Thanks James, tree, and Rday, you are all very helpful! I will check at Petco for the "regular" set of 2, and if not order on line, thanks for the sites. I think I will need a lot of them for various relatives and friends. Maybe stocking stuffers?????? Not!

I do like the magnifier and key chain attached to the protick. I'd like to find some of the manifiers to add to the O'Tom.
