I have Chronic Lyme and Bartonella and this morning I woke up with a red rash covering almost my entire body with lots and lots of bumps. I'm not sure what caused this. My skin was completely normal yesterday.
Which co-infections can affect skin?

Good to see you... or not.. you probably look pretty weird right now, eh?
Assuming you've ruled out hives and allergic reactions... and you didn't mention itching...
And you didn't give much of a description of the bumps...
And you didn't say if you could have been re-exposed or if you are herxing... or have started using new skin products, laundry detergent, etc...
I'd have to diagnose this as being an ihavenoclue rash.

Bartonella has been known to cause a sand paper type tiny bumpy rash that can be red. But then again, there are so many Bart rash presentations... I don't know if you could really rule it out, no matter how the rash presents.
You know the Lyme rash presentations already.
Ehrlichiosis and RMSF can cause a rash in some people. It usually starts on the feet and hands area... and works its way up toward the trunk.
Do you have a fever? Those two disease rashes would be preceeded normally by a fairly high fever.
Babesia can cause a petchie (sp?) type rash in some folks.. or what I call a Chia Pet rash. It kinda looks like someone stuck pins in you and at each spot a drop of blood formed under the skin.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any other rashes, except with Parvo B-19 virus.. which is a red "slapped cheek" rash.
Wish I had better answers for you.
I am sure you will find other TBD's can cause rashes... but I can't think of any that would fit that wonderful detailed description you provided.
Please check with a doctor if it continues.
PS.. If it continues for a couple of months... and you aren't doing anything come mid-December...

Sorry about the vague description. It's hard to expain how it looks. I woke up yesterday and my skin was itchy, but nothing was there. Then, by the afternoon, I had bumps that looked like pimples and it was red around them. It was extremely itchy. It was even in my scalp and everything.
Last night, I washed it and that helped with the itching and redness. Then, I got an entirely new rash that was much worse than the first. My entire stomach was bright orange and there were these huge horizontal, raised marks all over. These weren't small bumps, though. This was something else. It was extremely itchy and hot to the touch. Then, I woke up this morning and it was gone.
Oh, and I haven't changed detergents or anything, so I don't think that it was an allergic reaction.

The bright orange stomach with raised horizontal marks all over would have been fun to see. And that screams "Bart" to me. But what do I know.

Glad your rash is gone... but that does mean more expense for me come the holidays. Now I have to pay a dishwasher AND buy holiday decorations.... my my.
I can only GUEES what it might have been so I would rather not.
If it happens again... do mention it to your doc. I might suggest NOT to tell the doc if you don't have a LLMD or a good relationship with your regular doc.
Cause I don't know about the docs you have... but to us you are looking pretty darn crazy about now!

I am not sure about either of the rashes you describe. So sorry! Wish I could help you and your daughter by coming up with some brilliant answers.
I will say that any "brown" or hyper-pigmented spots on the skin should be checked out by a dermatologist... in MY opinion.
Again, sorry I can't come up with something more. I did burn the brain trying though.
