I have wanted IV a long time and I haven't tried it because it is believed I have a Cephalosporin allergy.
What other IV abx are equal to Rocephin that have helped you?
Oral Doxy put me on the floor in agonizing pain -so I don't know if IV Doxy would be easier, I know some who can't handle orals do better on IV.
Any advice, love to hear it.

My daughter did terrible on Rocephin. She does great on Bicillin LA Injections--so much easier than IV.

You can be tested to determine whether or not you have an allergy to that group of medications.
There is IV Zithromax, Doxy, Vancyo, Claforen, Tigecycline to name a few and I don't remember if some of them are in the class of ABX you can't take.

Sparrow, ironically my LLmd likes Bicillin as well as IV, I have done Bicillin last year, but quit too soon, did 4 months once and almost 2 months the year before. Bicillin is a long term drug minimum 6 months and really should be a year. Bicillin got my son well. I have thought about going back to the shots.
Thanks for some ideas,I know my LLMd has mentioned Vanco, which I am not into at all. He likes Burrascano's suggestions and Dr. B says Vanco is excellent, but I don't like the idea of starting on one of the strongest IV's.
To answer Steven's question..many years ago I took Keflex for a few days and I just remember the palms of my hands turning red and warm..sounds ridiculous and most do not believe that is an allergy, but doctor's won't Rx any cephalosporins because of this so called reaction.
I can test by taking a Ceftin and sitting it out for hours in my doctor's office, but I haven't done it yet. It would be extremely rare for a person such as myself who can handle the penicillin's just fine and not be able to handle the cephalosporins. IF you aren't allergic to the pen's it is one in a million chance you'd be allergic to the cephalosporins. All are very much alike and beta lactams. But it does happen once in awhile.
I think when I took Keflex, I might have "over reacted" vs an actual reaction.
