I recently went to a infectious disease doctor and he is telling me that it is to early to have the symptoms I have from Lyme disease. He wants to say it is Lupus or some type of arthritis. I have only had the joint pain, lymph nod swelling and other many symptoms since I got bit by the tick. Should I continue with this doctor or try to find another one.

Cindy,
When were you bitten by a tick? Lymph node swelling can start within weeks after exposure to Lyme. Everyone reacts differently and symptoms can show up quickly or can take months. What other symptoms do you have?
In general, ID MDs do not understand, in fact mostly do not believe in Lyme. It is not within that Dr's specialty to be diagnosing lupus or arthritis, so on what basis is he doing it? Usually ID MDs are the worst MDs for lyme. Run away from this guy.
It is very possible that you have lyme, but if you want to get it properly diagnosed and treated you have to go a lyme specialist, known as a LLMD (Lyme Literate MD).
Please go to the Seeking A Doctor discussion and ask for a list of MDs in your area.
Let us know how you're doing. Good luck

I saw an ID Doc who said i had chronic fatigue syndrome. He denied Lyme even though I was Lab Positive. Ran tests for Lupus and others (all neg)...but in the end, said there was no treatment for my condition.
Find another doctor...even if you have to travel far. Your health is worth it. Take care,

No, you should not stay with him. Run away from guy as quickly as you can. Go over to "Seeking a Doctor" section and ask for referrals to LLMD's in your area.
You will get some referrals sent to your private email box from various members here.

I agree. Seek a LLMD in seeking doctor in xxxx in
Seeking Dr. Discussion. If you were bitten by a
tick and then got sick, there is a host of
infectious organisms that you could be infected
with. And your best chance at getting well is with
a LLMD.

TOO EARLY to have symptoms?? What an IDiot dr!
When you find that LLMD, be sure to get checked for bartonella.
