I was totaly symptom free for over three years. ...Got better using rife and some antibiotics ...Had to find a new way because of elevated liver enzymes and severe thrush. Switched to Rife.
Bit by a deer tick this past Sunday ...started doxy and herxed on the 4th day ...liver is killing me right now - really sore
Should I stick it out since the infection is new, use rife or try Buhner's protocal (never tried herbs before)
I do value and respect all opinions - I just want to get this right so I can make this time around as short as possible.
Thanks, Scott

If I had a new bite, I'd want to use doxy. Do you have an LLMD? Can he check your liver enzymes? What about taking milk thistle to help the liver?

Doxy won't treat babesiosis which is the most common lyme coinfection. You need to get some Bactrim DS to add to your doxy. Then, you should be pretty well covered for lyme, ehrlichia, bartonella, and babesiosis.
I got to my lyme doc within a week of a new bite (with a bulls eye) and he treated me with doxy and Bactrim DS. He said that combo would cover all the diseases named above.
I had a mild herx on day 4. After 30 days of meds and no symptoms, I was done! And, that was Aug. of 2008. I'm still symptom-free.
That's what I did the second time around and I'm awfully glad I did.
