Hi recently dx'd - scheduled to see LLMD in few wks. Have shortness of breath- xray shows lung scarring- will see pulmonary next week. Just wondering if anyone had similar problem and could it be related to lyme? thx

Yeah, I got the same thing going on in the base of my lungs too. Doctors have no clue as to why.
Right now it doesn't bother me too much so nothing is being done about it except keeping an eye on it. I am sure it has something to do with lyme, but no way to prove it.

Many ppl have scarred lungs from prior infections like pneumonia. It is not uncommon. You can even get scarred lungs from having light pneumonia that went undiagnosed sometime in your life.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if LD or co's could cause scarring of the lungs.

Order a blood test called alpha one antitrypsin at your lab. If it is low, pm me for more info.

I don't know about my lungs, but I found out that my larnyx and vocal cords are very scarred up.

I read that Lyme can be a possible cause of lung fibrosis, but the experts don't know why it occurs. Lyme can damage any organ in your body, supposedly.
