My honey had a silent heart attack, they werent even sure when(found by stress test recommended by our LLMD.

He has an appointment with a cardiologist, and I have found only one article connecting Lyme and Heart attacks.

He does have other risk factors, so I am not sure wether I should even mention the Lyme.

I would really appreciate any advice,and any articles connecting the two.

I plan to be nice,and calm to her, for my husbands sake, but no guarentees! Guess I had better take duck tape for my mouth [Smile]

Wow sorry to hear that. There are lots of journal

citations of aberrant rhythms caused by

borreliosis. And heart blocks also. That may help

you. If I can find them I will post. A heart block

is a abnormal rhythm. So if you know what caused

his that would help. If it was

functional/mechanical. I would assume you know

his clotting risk. Many lyme patients have thick

blood, so that may be also something to look up.

Thank you Pine lady,for your response, it really means a lot to me.

Ido have the thick blood written down,the test is for Protein S deficency, right?

His Echo/Stress test was very confusing to me, it
mentioned infarct in lower left ventricle.

And wouldnt that test pick up problems with valves?

He has never complained about palps, SOB, or pain.He is diabetic and has had his sugar under control for years.

I really would like to understand before going into the appointment, because I feel better not trusting doctors right now.

I know Heart Disease can be a complication of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, another TBD.

Coronary artery spasms can be caused by low magnesium.

Chronic infection causes bodywide inflammation, and this contributes to heart disease.

Excess fibrin causes hypercoagulation (blood is too thick) and can cause blood clots.

Our body's response to an infectious organism that uses our cholesterol is to make more of it.

All of these are related to Lyme.
All of these are related to heart attacks.

I've read that lyme patients often have high levels of c reactive protien, a test that shows levels of inflammation in the blood.

High levels of hs-CRP consistently predict recurrent coronary events in patients with unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). Higher hs-CRP levels also are associated with lower survival rates in these patients.

Many studies have suggested that after adjusting for other prognostic factors, hs-CRP is useful as a risk predictor.

My non-LLMD recommended Boluoke for my high levels. It would likely help with hypercoagulation too.

I would mention the diagnosis of Lyme disease because it is a part of his medical history.

Whether the lyme was a contributing factor is probably something you won't know. Since he has other risk factor..Diabetes being a major one...it would be hard to tell what caused it.

Heart attacks can be caused by so much. Lifestyle, other diseases, weight, smoking and the list goes on and on.

Just be sure to mention that he does have lyme which has been known to cause heart block. Print off some info if you would think it would help.

There are many tests that can be done to check valves to see if there in and inflammation or damage to them.

Good luck to your hubby and I am happy he is okay.

If he has leg cramps, he probably has low magnesium.

Low magnesium can cause a heart attack.

Magnesium wasting is a symptom of Lyme.

Diabetes puts you at a very high risk for heart attacks .. then there's Lyme!!

Thank you everyone,

I wrote down alot of the information each one of you suggested.

He is just so young, but some of you are so much younger. And that breaks my heart for you.

In a way the Lyme is a blessing, because his LLMD ordered the test.No one else picked up on it because of his age. He is only on some good supplements,including magnesium, because he was working on getting a knee replacement.LLMD wanted to start antibiotics after surgery.

And yes grandmother, he used to have the legs cramps for many years, until he started the Mg.

kitka , I appreciate your advice about giving a complete medical history, I just get gun shy when I have to deal with a non-LLMD. I have a bad temper.Its his decision of course, but I started a folder of studies for her to read if she chooses to do so.

Terry. I am going to get the scoop on the hs-crp. Is this a blood test? I will ask his LLMD about the boluoke also, but Im not going to tell my husband whats it made of!

Carol, you make sense as he has had increased cholesterol for years, but not really highThat level is probably masked by taking his Lipitor.

Lymetoo, My husband is 55. Guess we still feel young, as we have Two younger kids that keep our hearts young,at least I forget we are kind of old.
