I`m taking antibiotics, and thought I should do

also something else to improve my immunesystem.

I try to avoid sugar, coffee and alcohol. I do

lot of exercise. I also try to eat little more

vegetables and drink green- and rooibostea.


Any simple advice what else i should do.

Should I take for example some herbs also? How

about Samento? How essential is it to eat alkaline

food? And one more thing.... What`s chicken`s

ph-value [Big Grin] Is chicken or fish better option than

pork or veal?


I know there`s a lot of information about this

and I�ve read it. Just wanted more opinions,

because there are soooooo much information

around...

I can't answer all your questions but most of the nutritional details are in links below.

As for a pork or veal, consider the conditions and treatment of the animal. Generally, baby cows are terribly mistreated in order to provide veal. If you can find pork from pigs that are NOT corporate raised, that is best.

I don't know about meat sources in Finland, but organic-fed, free range "happy" animals will help nourish us more than animals fed bad diets and stressed by bad conditions (as is frequent in the U.S.).

Every step of the way, the animal should be cared for with an end that is as quick and stressless as possible. Otherwise, it's not just a spiritual sort of thing, there are far more stress hormones in the meat and that is not good for us.

I think FISH is far better, as long as as free of mercury as possible. Sardines fit that category. The ones I like come from your area.

pH can best be balanced by eating lots of green leafy vegetables.

Probiotics are a great help to your immune system. Be sure for aim for good support rather than any "boosting" of any system.


These links are all about supplements intended specifically for lyme patients - with great detail. It's good to read as much as you can from each of the sources and then compare as to what seems to fit you at this point.

If you have any LL ND (naturopathic doctors) or LL herbalists, it would be best to consult one of them for more individualized advice. And, good to discuss with your LLMD, as well.

Hey H...

Good to know you are being treated and are also concerned about your general health.

Keebler can put up a list like you wouldn't believe... a great one always. That would be good to check into, for sure.

May I suggest?

Before adding herbs, supplements, please check with your doctor first... and then read up on all of them.

Things like immune boosters, magnesium and samento, etc.. can have side effects and negative results... as well as, cause allergic reactions. Some are only suppose to be taken for 6 weeks maximum. Things like that you need to know.

I also find that adding certain things can double or triple the killing effects on the bad bugs, making herxing a lot worse.

I'd like to also say that adding a lot of things to your protocol... or even a few... can precipitate an allergic reaction (I know I said that- I'm not that senile yet)... but my point is..

If you start more than one thing at a time... and become allergic... you won't know what caused it.

Then you will have to stop EVERYTHING! That is bad news, especially if it is a bad reaction.

Hope that opinion helps some! I am not a doctor... but I do know Lymetoo, a member here... and she once stayed in a Holiday Inn.

Oops! Being from Finland.. that probably won't make any sense to you... and I'm not even sure if they have TV's in Finland.. and commercials? Anyhow..

I laughed... so it wasn't a total waste.

Use a neti pot with special salt to make a warm water saline solution. Rinse your each nostril at least once daily. This will wash out viruses trying to make an entrance into your system.

Avoiding colds and flus helps the immune system!

As per TinCup's bewilderment as to if Finland has televisions or not,

Clarification:

When I said "I don't know about meat sources in Finland" - I assumed your food supply is cleaner and more authentic than in much of the U.S. so you may not have the same concerns as we do here.

But, as industrial farming and livestock practices are changing around the world (often for the worse), I just meant that it's vital to know the source of your food and the practices around all that wherever one lives.

Lots of Probiotics, Turmeric and Ginger to reduce inflammation and thin the blood making it easier to kill the bacteria.

A bulk of your immune system is located in the intestinal tract. Keep it healthy as possible with probiotics and mitigate the bad effects from the antibiotics.
