Was just curious on other peoples reactions to Plenaquil. I am taking Ceftin and Biaxin and LLMD now added Plenaquil.
Anyone have good/bad experiences on this drug?
Happy Turkey Day!

Plaquenil???
Many here take that. It usually works in tandem with something like Biaxin. I wasn't able to take it, so my comments aren't viable!

I've been on Plaquenil for a few days. Main side effects so far seem to be limited to nausea and a little dizziness.
One of the listed possible side effects is itching. I've been itching like crazy for the last few days. However, I often get itching when I'm herxing, so I have no clue if this is from a herx or the Plaquenil. Or both.

I took Plaquenil for about a week, and had terrible dizziness and this vertigo, confusion type thing going on. My Dr. took me off.
Lots of people have no problem with it though.

Intense stomach pain.
The biaxin worked well by itself.

My doctor tried me on Plaquenil eariler this year. I could not take it at first. He had me cut back to a half tablet twice a day and i have been able to tolerate quite well. I was also on Omnicef and Minocin every other day. Now with no insurance I had to cut out Omnicef but have been on Bactrim DS for about a month and have been able to tolerate that twice a day. I was diagonized with Lyme and co-infections of Babasia AND Bartonella at the end of April, boy has it been more of a learning experience than I ever wanted (:. Treatment has been very slow for me as I have had numerous herx reactions, which is what happened with the Plaq. My doctor says I am sensitive to treatment because I have such a bad case. If you find you have trouble on the Plaquenil try lower dosages before giving up on it all together. Good Luck and God Bless. Happy Thanksgiving.Oh Yeah, He also has me taking Zitormax but I had to cut back to half a tablet every other day, which with all the other meds I'm on I usually forget to take. Im curious are there others out there taking that many antibotics?
