I was wondering if anyone else on here gets bad lower back/hip pain and pain in between the shoulder blades? Knee pain is the newest symptom but not as annoying.

It is the strongest of all my symptoms and very annoying. I always had a weak lower back and it seems to have gotten worse since the Lyme.

Just curious if anyone else gets this.

I have a chronic neuralgia and pain in my spine: hips, bones, shoulders. It is so bad some days I cannot stand it: get literally suicidal. Some days it is not so bad. Neurontin seems to help, but does not completely take it away.

Yes. Severe.

Keep in mind that bed rest will weaken the muscles and possibly worsen your back pain. It's a double-edged sword. You NEED the bedrest due to TBD...yet that very rest can cause other symptoms. Ugh.

I have two bad vertebrae in my lower back. The worst is when it causes my sciatic nerve to go haywire.

It is brutal.

Anything you can take to relieve inflammation is a benefit to you!!

There is a thread on how to work tight back muscles, or trigger points, with a tennis ball.

These muscles are in your gluts or along your spine. You need a wall, a tennis ball + some time.

Bump it up.

yes...my daughter's main complaint all the way through this disease. Many symptoms have resolved, this one hasn't.

Thank you, massman, will look that up.

ladeedah, this is exactly what I'm feeling! Low back pain, and pain between the shoulder blades.

Did you ever get any relief from this?

Wow... I've been fighting the pain between my shoulder blades now for a LONG time. I was told I had a displaced rib... but it never seems to leave.

I've done the chiropractor thing, with therapy to replace the rib, so when it's still there, I'm beginning to wonder what it is.

I do the tennis ball thing. I put two balls in a sock and tie it so they are together at the end.

Then starting with them on my lower back, I lay down on the floor with them under me. I slowly roll them up to my neck.

They release the pressure on each side of the spine and it feels SO GOOD. It's like you can release the pain when doing it... but the pain really never goes away!

What is it? I'm wondering if it's referred pain from something internal??

Lower back pain is the symptom that nearly kills me. It is extremely severe during a herx. No relief found here.
