So I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal when I started pulsing Flagyl this week.

Day 3 I had slight nausea.

Day 4 I sleep for over 12 hours and have nausea.

Day 5 I have waves of nausea, lose my appetite, am having frequent BM's (sorry!), and my eyeballs ache. Plus, I feel periods of diiziness. And I can tell I am out of it because when I backed my car out my garage this morning, I hit the garage door rail with the sideview mirror! ARGH!

Anyone else experience symptoms like these?
It almost feels like

Flagyl. Yuck!!!

I had the headache from heck plus increased issues.

I pulsed flagyl for three days and doxy the other 4.

I always did okay on the first day.

Couldn't wait to go back on doxy by the 3rd.

Hang in there.

I found that the flagyl extended release worked better for me.

A little more pricey than generic, but so worth it.

Hugs,

Geneal

Geneal thanks for your reply.

I didn't know they had an extended release version.

I'll have to ask my doctor about that one.

Well, it got so bad last night that I actually threw up!

So I think I am going to cut back to 1 Falgyl a day for the remaining two days of this week.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Flagyl is awesome. Just make sure you take it with food to avoid nausea. Take the full dose, dont cut back! Dip the pills in olive oil to make it easier to swallow. [Smile] Herxing is a good thing.

Flagyl can be REALLY rough stuff.

WildCondor, thanks for the olive oil suggestion. Do you think this is a herx? I thought I was having a side effect to the Flagyl especially with the vomiting.

Lymetoo, I sent you a PM.

Hi Ariel, Flagyl and Tindamax tended to exasperate my symptoms and gave me the boo- hoo's. after a few days off the meds everything returned to normal for myself.

For me it was a herx reaction.

Ariel.. be aware of what stella said.. flagyl can make you really depressed. I took it everyday for months and months and boy was I in the tank.

I had to stop after 4 days-i thought i was dying.

Thanks all for the additional responses to my posts.

So far I don't have the depression.

I just have the nausea, frequent BM's, and the vomiting.

dmbfan, I don't feel that way but it sure is rough!

Just be careful but I hope you can get through the initial bad times.

I was only able to handle it for a week, spaced out, could not walk sever youknowhat. Ended up hospitalized.

Had ato come off all antibiotics and have been for a week. No more spacey but digestive system totally screwed don't know when i will be able to get back on any antibiotics.

For me though my digestive system was getting bad even before i added the flagl.

I know a ten year old girl that took all this stuff and had no side effects at all - oh for youth.

good luck.

Maps, sorry to hear about your experience.

I'll proceed cautiously because right now my digestive system is screwed up also!

Ariel, i'm on day 9 of Flagyl...250mg/2x day. First few days, i felt great. Although i immediately began to get night sweats and vivid dreams.

I think the Babs is coming out to play with me now.

I had to dose down on my 2 other abx but keep Flagyl at the 2x's per day. I was going #2 like 12 times per day. I also tripled my probiotics, and my stool isnt soo liquidy.

Hope this helps. No depression or side effects other than big giant herx last night from Artesmisin increased dose.

I too know a child who took Flagyl and had no side effects and did really well on it.
