At least I hope that's what it is.

I had an episode of blurred vision last evening just before supper, and within an hour I had a monster of a headache--not debilitating, but bad enough--as well as a little nausea and just feeling wiped out.

I stayed up late working on a school projet (I know, dunb idea, but it's due Thursday), and I slept okay but still woke up with the headache.

I've been taking aspirin and Benadryl, not really getting any relief, and the headache seemed to get worse earlier today.

Right now it feels like the crown of my head is going to explode.

The last time I had a headache this bad was when I first started Amoxyl over the summer.

I've been back on Doxy since the middle of November and haven't had any herx or anything else.

So is this a Lyme symptom or one of the coinfections? I also have Ehrlichia, and despite negative tests, I suspect babs too.

This topic has received NO (zero) responses, and it was about to fall off of page one.

I'm sending it back up to the top of page one in hopes that someone else can come to Starfall's aid -- because I cannot think of a good response myself at this moment, but I didn't want his/her need to be overlooked.

PS to Starfall -

I experienced all that too for many years. For me decreasing vitamin D intake from diet and light exposure helped, as did meds that boost GABA (thyroid hormone, benzos, etc.). A GABA booster you can buy OTC is Valerian. But beward that such approaches merely treat the symptom... to resolve the problem long-term you must find/treat the root cause (presumably lyme).

Thanks. The headache is a little better today, but I am just wiped out and don't feel like eating.

I don't know if it was a mmigraine or a virus. No one else in the family has had it, although a bunch of my friends also complained of really bad headaches the last day or so.

We had a front move through with a lot of rain over the weekend, which I'm sure didn't help.

I spoke too soon.

My headache came back with a vengeance last night, and my head still feels wierd--like there are little atomic bombs going off at various places inside my head.

Boy the poems I could write with imagery like that,if I just felt like thinking, lol.

I skipped me Doxy last night, and the headache isn't as intense this morning, although still there.

I'll be interested to see if it comes back worse after I've taken my Doxy.

hi,

Im not very good at responding to people, so heres

my attempt. I think it might be lyme related

because I had the same kindof headache that lasted

three days. It also affected my left temple. I read

in here not to over do the the IBs, since they really

dont help. Maybe its the dieing off that creates

the headaches. I wouldnt skip your Doxy keep Taking

it and I hope you feel better soon

Starfall,

Two things: it is quite likely die-off, and you need to do as much detox as possible (coffee enemas, psyllium and bentonite, lemon/lime water, liver flushes, French Green Clay are all good).

The other thing is that doxy can cause increased intracranial pressure, and therefore headaches. So, if detox doesn't help enough, maybe you will either need to have your doctor rx a different abx, or a lower dose, plus something else. Talk to your LLMD. But first off, I would suggest detox to see if that helps.

What dose are you on of doxy?

Also, while you have the headache/migraine, you surely need stronger meds, at least Ibuprofen, but maybe something stronger, like Vicodin and/or a migraine med. But other than Ibuprofen, that would have to come from your doctor.

When I did doxy initially, even at a low dose, 100 mg BID, I had horrible migraines from day 1. (I already have had them forever as one of my worst symptoms). But after more treatment, I could tolerate that low dose, due to the Lyme load being less.

Have you considered or explored craniosacral work ?

Could be a drug, die-off or mechanical. If you google craniosacral you may find some practitioners near you.

Your atomic bomb description sounds a bit like what some people call "brain zaps". You might google that term to see if it matches for you.

I've tried many pain meds for the headaches. The only one that works for me is butalbital.
