Has anyone suffered from prolonged cases of hemorrhoids/piles?
this seems to go along with anal itching and excessive abdominal gas..
could this be Lyme related?

No, I haven't....but you really need to consider YEAST with the gas and itching... sounds like it could be that!
Are you on a yeast free diet .. low carb, no sugar, etc?
Taking probiotics?? Good quality ones??
If you're on antibiotics, then make sure you are taking a yeast preventative like Nystatin.

continued,,,I take honey as substitute to sugar
I used to take probiotics but didnt seem to alleviate the digestive issues

Google candida! Probiotics will prevent yeast, but if you have it you'll need to take something that will KILL the yeast.
Just eliminating yeast from your diet won't do it... eliminate anything which can cause yeast to form in your gut.
Avoid sugar, pasta, white rice, white potatoes, etc.
Can definitely be a symptom of worms which can be a co-infection of Lyme.
Check out Humaworm and go to the symptom list,
Gael

echo - What you've described most certainly can be symptomatic of Lyme and other illnesses transmitted by insects / parasites. It can also be related to intolerance to various food stuffs like wheat, gluten, corn, soy, etc. that follow along with tick borne illnesses.
You will have to go through a personal process of elimination of various foods, drink, etc. to find out what the culprits are. This could take quite a while, but if you have Lyme, the sooner you start, the better.
Since I'm of Irish descent , I know I'm taking my life in my hands when I say this - The potatoes have to go...(I'm running away from you and typing at the same time. LOL!) I think what Lymetoo was trying to tell you is that you need to eliminate foods that you're likely allergic to AND, cut out the "simple" carbohydrates so you don't form yeast (Candida) infections, which by itself can also cause the problems that you have. No potatoes, bread, pasta, sugar-added fruits, drinks or other products. It's a really long list.
Suggest you perform various subject searches on this site as there's lots of information here regarding all these items.
ADDITIONAL: You're also likely very dehydrated. Just drinking water might not take care of this. Need to eat watery veggies, fruits, etc.

A slice of Fresh Ginger rubbed on the bummed area in a soak helped me.

Someone here once mentioned some wipes that contain witch hazel... very soothing, I hear.
