So I keep reading all that stuff about diet and all it causes is frustration, anxiety and anger.

My diet so far was generous amounts of yogurt, mashed potatoes, pastas , meat, bread , cheeses and all other "bad stuff" (with good amount of raw veggies throw in). 2.5k/day -and I still losing weight .I had no GI sypmtoms until now (I suspect abx start taking its toll) -so I doubt there was absorption problem

It kinda goes against all those suggestion of lactose, gluten , starch and other thing free diets. What makes me wondering is that how the hell those diets suppose to help - I am losing weight as it is and If I follow those diets I will be severely underweight in no time. Why those diets are pushed on people? - I mean its very hard to maintain necessary caloric intake for a tall male as it is without restriction, with wasting disease it becomes twice as hard, if I throw in "good" diet I will probably face disaster

I lost 40 pounds this year forcing food down my throat, I am about to try something radical to stop weight loss (gonna ask for prescription med for appetite and maybe anti nausea( though now that I off rifampin+doxy combo nausea is better)) , will up my calorie intake to 4k calories with cream based protein shakes mixed with coconut oil ( its about 2.5k of calories per quart, I drink it troughout the day between meals)).

So why there is no diets or suggestions addressing the weight loss issues ?!!!!?!

I have a friend who was dx with aids a long time ago and when he used to go into wasting he ate HUGE amounts of protein (meat included)to stop it. He is doing well now. Hope this helps,

When I am in my losing weight mode, I eat whatever I can. Whatever sounds good.

Usually it's stuff that is dry and crunchy for some reason like apples and nuts. I also consume large amounts of peanut butter one scoop at a time.

I know that my diet is not the best nutritionally at times, but I figure it's better than starving my body. I just do the best I can.

Sometimes I take ginger tea or capsules to take some of the edge off the nausea and that helps some. I also don't eat much in the morning but find it easier to eat as the day progresses.

I also leave snacks out so that when I see them I try to eat a little or I eat while I'm on the computer and not really thinking about it.

I know I will gain the weight back and get my appetite back, so I do my best to try not to torture myself with my diet.

Starving the lyme is one thing, but I can't starve my body at the same time. I just do the best I can.

Hope things even out for you soon.

Can you eat nuts?? Preferably not peanuts, but almonds, pecans, walnuts, macadamia, etc.

Have you been checked for diabetes too?

I am with B4lyme.

I have lost a good bit of weight and I try and eat healthy food but I mix it with plenty of carbs and yes sometimes I even eat ice cream. Oh my!!!

There is no way I could do these strict diets that restrict foods with calories. Its all I can do to maintain the weight I am at now.

I am at the point of being afraid to loose any more weight, so I eat with that in mind.
