Dr C says: Doxycycline is effective for Ehrlichia.
Babesia is treated with a combination of Zithromax with either Mepron, Flagyl, or Tindamax.
Bartonella is treated with antibiotics known to treat cat-scratch fever including Amoxillin, Zithromax, Biaxin, Levoquin.
So it looks like Babesia with Zithromax and one of the other drugs including Flagyl.
But its main stay is to kill the cysts.

Which Dr C?? I never heard of flagyl being used for babesia. ( or has my memory gone bye-bye?? )

Has anybody else taken Flagyl? Did your LLMD say it was only for killing lyme cysts?

Flagyl is supposed to kill lyme cysts and though since it is a protozoan I have used it to kill the fry protozoan bug and feel that I am making progress... and that flagyl has helped a lot...

My daughter took Flagyl and did well on it. It is a cyst buster for lyme.

"Amoxicillin for bartonella"??
This is the first I've heard on this.
I was put on amoxi for Lyme when I first got sick because I'm allergic to tetracycline, so they did not want to put me on doxy.
Could it be that when I got so much worse, it was herxing due to bart??
I have blood tests positive for Lyme and babs, and we are treating bart based on clinical symptoms.
If amoxi affects bart, does bicillin also? (I've been on bicillin for a year. It's been great for me.)

I got amoxicillin for bartonella from Dr.S.
This year I was on ampicillin for a bladder infection and after 3 - 4 days I got very bad tingling and vibrating in my legs and muscles. Like a lot of traffic in my legs. I think with ampicillin the bart is coming out but I am not sure that they are killed.
I needed charcoal every two hour even during the night.
