A few days prior to, during and after my symptoms and pain flare terribly, feele like I have so much more pain and fatigue - everything is worse physically and emotionally
Is this common in Lyme - ITS AWFUL

One of our daughters Lyme/Bart symptoms?? has been urine frequency.
It is a little better since treating, Lyme and co., but still not normal.
Before her period and during her urine frequency becomes even more frequent.

My LLMD said that's a bad time for us gals with Lyme. I've noticed an increase in symptoms and decrease in general well-being. Whatever that may be!

Yes. I believe it has something to do with the change in hormone levels and how it affects our immune systems.

Yes yes yes.. This is always a bad time for me.. I hate that whole week or more...
I just give into to it and take extra baths and detox and also take extra anti inflammatories like Naproxen at that time..
That helps me the most actually...

I have actually been noticing this when I ovulate too. Lucky me twice a month!!!! HORRIBLE! I hate it!

During your period, your prostigladins (they increase inflamation) are much higher.
Hormones could also affect this.
And some poeple with lyme have monthly flares, and for women this could be tied to their periods.
I feel worse the first three days of my periods...

Usually with my period, and right before, I get (more) migraines, and my cramps are often much worse than they were pre-Lyme.
Also, I've noticed that my cramps and body pain kind of amplify each other. Like, if it was just the cramps or just the body pain, it would be tolerable, but it's somehow like they're flowing into each other and doubling the effects.
Usually I also have more exhaustion and brain fog during my period. For me, some relates to what meds I'm on.
When I was on amoxicillin, I had such severe "cramps" that I would be lying on the floor, vomiting, agonizing pain that no amount of pain meds helped, etc. It was an utter nightmare.
We thought I had a fibroid or cystic ovaries, but everything checked out fine.
Once i went off the amoxi, my periods became much more "normal."

OMG i am so bad a week before during and after my period!!!
I get attack a severe attack with fever, my whole body especially legs are in pain stong chills and severe neuro issues happen and next thing you know the next day i start my period.
That week i dread to see each month. for me it's worst than hell during that time. Recently i have been feeling sick all month long now!

I have mine at the moment and its very scary this month as i have gone SO Neuro, feels like my body misfires, lots of twitching etc

Yes it makes it so much worse that I get migraines that make me want to DIE usually before (a few days before) or right when I get my period....and my period ranges from 3-5 weeks, not the normal 28 days. I never know when I'm going to get it. The migraines are so bad they last for days or over a week straight and I can't move, no light/sound AT ALL....I just want to DIE! The pain is so bad I could loose my mind. Joints worsen, muscles, emotional wreck!! I can't believe I'm still alive. This is not "life", it's existing without a life while in extreme pain that feels like no one can understand. HELL ON EARTH! You are not alone. I am not suicidal, but I just can't wait to either get better, or not be on this earth anymore after all these years of this. Just awful. That's why they call us "Lyme Warriors". This is a BATTLE!!!!

I am almost at the point of pulsing my meds with my period cuz that is when I can tell the blood suckers are tyring to have a party in my body..
Increase in all my symptoms - Neuro. and exhaustion.
My LLMD also said very very common and is linked to hormones - I zoned out during his explaination...but he said definatley hormone related.
For me it goes waaayyyyy beyond PMS and straight to Lyme h**l. TG

My neck and head hurts so bad right now I would take painkillers if I had them. Its bordering on worrisome...
Its a drag but it should lessen as the infection load lightens up over time.

Yep, my Lyme flares every time for several days before my period, and since the tick bite, I get them every 2 weeks instead of every 4, and PMS/cramps/headaches are also worse than they used to be.
My theory is that Lyme is messing with my hormones, to make my cycles shorter, and hormones are messing with my Lyme, to make my symptoms worse at those times, but I really don't know.
The shortened cycles were part of what convinced me that I still had Lyme after my first round of treatment, apart from the return of pain and fatigue, which I could have tried to blame on something else.
It was something objective that was consistent from the time after the tick bite, and which I had been tracking both before and after, so I was sure and not going by my memory.

Yes.Oh Yes. At ovulation and right before/during period. The symptoms are a more accurate prediction of when I'll start than the calendar.
