I just started, and I'm thrilled. I am using small, divided doses to start.
But, boy am I dizzy.
Thanks for any input!

I think andrographis can make some people dizzy. It did the same thing to me. Start with a very low dose and work up slowly. I could not take andrographis. I also felt bladder irritation but that was probably a herx which I did not realize at the time. You need to divide it into four doses as most of the herbs are eliminated from your system very quickly. I took cat's claw for a long time but did not herx from it like I did on abx.

After two days on the high doses of his core protocol (I didn't build up like I probably should have) I had horrible chronic headaches. I think they finally stopped once I discontinued the resveratrol. Money was a big problem for me back then and I never gave the protocol a fair shot. I might try it again after I'm finished with my parasite and anti-viral treatment.

Andrographis dizzy? Ah, that makes sense. OK, I'll break down the dose. Thanks nefferdun.
SC, that's interesting. Maybe ramping up slowly would help?
Hopefully you can get back soon.

I take the full doses of Andrographis and Polygonum (knotweed) and have no reaction, no herxes. I've been on them for 2 years. I can't take CatsClaw except very occasionally, because after 2 weeks of steady dosing, it causes me tendon pain, which is a sign to stop.
Buhner writes that Polygonum is one of the safest, easiest herbs---it can be taken every 10 minutes if necessary.

Even after I was better from Lyme, I still had to ramp up on Resveratrol. I take it for its antioxidant properties. Some herbs are just highly effective and need to be started slowly. Now I have no problem at all with the Resveratrol. I was highly toxic when I started it, so that may have been the problem.
Anyway, my point is, sometimes it's not necessarily the Lyme itself causing the herb to be hard to take.

Thanks, Sixgoofykids. I can sense the power of the resveratrol, even though I have just started. Something feels different when I take it. You still are taking it, then?
Polly, it is interesting that the cat's claw effects your tendons. I will definitely keep on the lookout in case I start to get pain. Thanks!

I had problems with Polygonum and Resveratrol. Both caused me bad symptoms in the beginnign, i believe from sensitivity.
Cats claw caused me herxes for many years.
Andrographis was waaaay too strong, so I could only tolerate a bit and for defined periods of time. But it was life savior, as well as cats claw.
I always went to andrographis when my lyme symptoms were strong. I believe this one can beat any antiborrelia abx.
The EASIEST for me was stephania. Very good taste and easy. I improved without much suffering. I could take it long term, like cats claw. I prefered stephania to poligonum, no doubt.
Polygonum though helped me with some coinfection, I think, babesia. It's been long time, so I can't remember well. Search for my older thread 'babesia alternative herbs', I was posting still under hardynaka. My babesia never came back with those herbs.
Another good one was astragalus. I had chronic lyme, but I took this one here and then, and felt good on it. I always used astragalus with my daughter.
Taste is good and it's a gentle herb (it is used as food in China). But you got to try and see how you react as Buhner initialy didn't recommend it for chronic sufferers. It did help me sometimes though!
Even sarsaparilla caused me some problem (I can't remember exactly.). It is supposedly helping to cleanse but the herxes from it were strong.
Always couple Buhner with cleansers, like chlorella, lymph cleansing supps (I love cardamon for that), kidney support (electrolytes or solidago).... Buhner herbs are not enough for cleansing.
