Curious if anyone has used Gentamycin along with typical Lyme treatment? I suspect biofilms play a role in my infection because my symptoms worsened after a severe neck injury resulting in a metal plate in my neck. Then, my syptoms got even worse after breast implants. I've thought about removing both but wonder if my body can handle the stress of surgery. I'm curious if anyone has removed any type of implant and/or tried Gentamycin to help remove biofilms???

I would never take gentamycin unless my life depended upon it. Have you read about the side effects yet? They can become permanent and then it's all downhill from there.

Lymetoo- I'm on gent. So far, so good. From the research I've done, a lot of the side effects are hearing loss at a high decible level. You may not even notice that unless you had a hearing test done.
that being said, it is a dangerous drug with ototoxic dangers besides hearing loss.
I've been taking it M,W,F for three weeks, then moved to once daily for 14 days. I'm 4 days away from being done and added doxy. I'm doing it as IM injections and daily is tough. My butt really hurts.
So far, I'm having good results but can't say if they will be permanent. I pray that they are.

Gentamicin looks like ok drug. Side effects wise - its not always people get them, but its obviously risk. I personally would try gentamicine before quinolones.

Lymetoo - I actual heard about it for other resistent bacteria infections. I did a search on Biofilm treatment and the NIH posted this...
I believe I've had Lyme since I was 17, 39 now. I had neck surgery in 2003 and they gave me Gentamycin to prevent infection. I never felt better in my life. This was before any implants and before I knew I had Lyme. I just had chronic pain and I felt dehydrated all the time. When I read this article I was hoping it was an epiphany. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Lymefam-how long were you treated with gent?
Also, would rife work in a similar way to ultrasound? Unfortunatly, we cant sit in front of an ultrasound machine for 48 straight hours.
