I dunno..don't get this symptom very often. I notice my tongue feels heavy and fat, I don't know any other way to descirbe it.
Almost like it's swollen but it isn't.

I've had transient tongue reactions too - like the tip of it doesn't understand the difference between Ts and Ds. Then it goes away in a couple weeks. My sense is it's just the nerve pathways being tweaked by the bacteria.

I get that feeling too. I often freak for a brief second thinking I have an allergy only to realize the feeling and symptom go away shortly. It comes and goes occasionally.

- Mine seems to be swollen from what I sense is lymph back-up.
Warm green tea helps, massage of neck lymph pathway, curcumin and andrographis have helped to decrease the swelling for me. Swishing with warm sea salt water helps, too. -

I recently saw my llmd..of course i know allergies can come suddenly.
Maybe I'm coming down with a cold? Sometimes feels nerve related and freaks me out. Also I think it has to do with what Keebler said.

I get that often too Pugs. Seems like my tongue is just big and stumbling around in my mouth when I try to talk....it is transient and to me indicates nerve involvement.

Sometimes I get this sensation after I eat something that required a lot of chewing.
My tongue feels weird, as though I did about 100 push ups with my tongue.
I start freaking that I'm allergic to whatever I ate or that I'm having a stroke or something.
Then it goes away in a couple minutes, and I'm fine.

FYI
I had that too and an LLMD told me it is from hyper-coagulation (thick-blood). It is often a sign of Babs. A blood thinner supplement may help such as Serapeptase or Boulokee but ck. with your Dr/LLMD first. It is not normal to have a thick or swollen tongue IMO. Fibrinogen lab/blood work up would most likely be helpful too.

The 12 cranial nerve or the Hypoglossal Nerve of the Tongue. I went through this years ago and if you google Klinghardt and Hypoglossal Nerve, I am sure you will get detailed info. The tongue absorbs all and detoxes also.
It's well worth knowing.

When I'm feeling highly toxic, my tongue is obvisouly swollen because you can plainly see the indentions on both sides of my tongue from my teeth.
Thankfully my sick tongue is healthier most days than it was for years.

My tongue stays large/fat. Looks like too much tongue for my mouth. It's not protruding yet. Thank God. It can be a hypothyroid problem. Have you had your thyroid checked or any symptoms of hypo?

I have had this swollen tongue problem for 7 years. It has been swelling progressively and it is now beginning to freak me out. I had a tongue biopsy (not fun) and their diagnosis was "hyperplasia with submucosal oedema" which properly translated means "swollen tongue". I am still hoping to find a cause to my problem and stop the swelling before it impairs my breathing. I checked everything, vitamin B12, thyroid, etc... They came up with possible secondary amyloidosis. if anyone has the same problem, please - share.

I actually have the same problem! Mine just started a few months ago, and it comes and goes. I've had not luck with anything yet.
