Anyone else get pain and/or tenderness on only one side of their face from time to time?
I've gotten this like one other time before - maybe last year or the beginning of this year.
I even noticed that a lymph node under my jaw is swollen and tender on only one side - the side that is tender and painful. And oddly, I have a cold sore on my lip on that side (left side). I have no idea if that is connected, but I thought it was strange how they happened at the same time.

not so sure about the actual pain but I have had numbness on one side on several occasions. I also get tenderness and some pain sorta on top of head etc?
MY LLMD has told me that with Lyme--ANY symptom (thing) can be possible.

I wonder if it's your parotid gland? That would explain why the lymph node is swollen.
p.s. Do hot compresses.

Thanks guys. Karen, I've had that too... where only certain spots on the top of my head are sore. The pain/soreness on the side of my face is mostly gone today. It's weird... comes and goes like everything else!!!

No, not Bells Palsy, because my face doesn't go numb and hang limp on the one side... just pain/tenderness/soreness on the one side and not on the other.

I have mild pain but mostly weakness only on one side. The right side of my face always feels weird.

I read somewhere that Lyme neuro symptoms typically are on just one side of the body because of the way the innervation runs.
Most of my symptoms were on the left side. But not all.

Agree with massman.
It sounds like a symptom of Bells Palsy. I have it in my face and gut on one side.

I have had this since before my diagnosis in 2002 I was told it was the parotid gland getting clogged when lymphatic system is trying to help get rid of toxins. Doesn't happen as much now unless I am sick or taking meds. hope this helps

Just as there can be variations in symptoms of lyme, there can be variations of symptoms of Bells Palsy.

Hi, from you description it sounds like what I have experienced but I am uncertain about any lymph node being related. Mine usually seem swollen. I get severe headaches and migraines with that and then have trouble speaking for a time after that.
It would be best to explore it both as not related to Lyme and related to Lyme and see which you think is right.
If I could drive, I'd be headed in exploring both directions at once. There are no LLMDs where I live and the neurologist didn't feel any scans were necessary even though my migraines can go on constantly for over four months straight and my mother had brain cancer. I think both directions are important to consider because there can be times where whatever we are experiencing is not Lyme or not just Lyme.

I have diagnosed Bells in some patients + I have had it myself. I apologize for being a natural health pro + posting my opinion.
Many diseases have "classic presentations" and variants. Examples: Downs syndrome, autism.
