I talked to someone who said the joint pain is from calcium deposits.
Is there any truth in that?

Calcium deposits can be present... so not sure what you are looking for here?

Biofilms (of which Lyme is one component) tend to contain calcium, and this builds up over time causing calcification in the arteries.
Think dental plaque.
I don't know if that applies directly to joint pain.

i just had a test come back showing a very abnormal bone...they thought it had to do with calcium metabolism but have nnot been able to figure it out
they found it by accidient looking for something else-i have no pain in this bone.
the para thyroids hve some connectin to calcium but i don't understand it all yet
so-i can't answer the question but i will follo this thread cuz i can't figure out what is going on with me

another member who has joint pain in his shoulder recently had an MRI with Dye that showed calcium deposits.
that coupled with what I heard from the other source at the top of the thread made me wonder.

I saw an orthopedist yesterday for my shoulder. MRI shows calcium deposits in shoulder. I go next week to have them washed away. He said Lyme can exaserbate calcium deposits and even cause these to occur. He thinks I'll have relief after the procedure.

My doctor said best to avoid all alcohol for life. I am fine with that. I don't miss it and she said the bacteria can always exist without symptoms so best to play it safe and not drink again.

I'm debating the whole idea of drinking again after this is over.
does it cause lyme to become active? does it compromise your immune system? i'm sure if its in moderation it would surely be ok...right?
