Randibear, I have read that if you take more probiotics than your body is used to that it might cause gas and bloating.
You could try backing down on the dose for a couple days then work up to the full dose as your body adjusts.
After you've been off antibiotics for awhile and your gut is healed, you may not need to take as many probiotics as you are now but you will want to continue taking some. You could probably even drop down to one or two capsules of your favorite brand.

Some probiotics are rumored to feed different parasitic infections.
This concerns me, especially when some feel "worse" on probiotics, no matter the dose or brand.
Personally I find this happens to me w/ certain kinds, and I am having a hard time tolerating Enula currently (for parasites) so who knows.
I have a lot of stomach pain/inflammation currently so you'd think they would help. I am unsure if the symptoms are caused by parasites and if the probx are just stimulating an immune response or what.
I do believe probiotics are beneficial and should be used if benefit is found w/ taking them.
I am continuing w/ mine, I guess doing humaworm is the best way to clean out the bugs in the near future so the probiotic/parasite concern is no longer an issue.
Best
Derek

If you're getting gas from them, you're likely taking too much... or you're not killing the yeast with anything.
Could be the yeast causing the gas.

- How about getting probiotics from miso soup or Kim Chee (sp?).
Live is best. -

ok, i'm confused. can probiotics cause yeast? florastor says not to take any yeast killing medications or anything while taking it.
am i making sense? so if probiotics cause yeast, then how do you take them to replenish the bowel if they cause yeast? and then if they do, how can you take a yeast killer if your colon is shot?
it's sort of like closing the barn door after the horse is out ain't it?

Keebler is right, everyone needs probiotics. However, I believe in moderation. You don't have to go overboard. As with most things, you just have to experiement.
