I've wondered this too. I've heard its very hard on your liver.

I did for a month, daily with both. I think that the reason you aren't supposed to take together is that they can decrease effectiveness of each other.

Just wondering if you can take Rifampin with diflucan.
Has anyone had experience with these combos?
I have taken them together. Rifampin increases time it takes for diflucan to be absorbed by your body.
My doc said take them 6 hours apart. Not really a problem for me.

Yes, I took them together but not at the same time of day.

Hubby took them both on the same protocol. He spaced them apart and the diflucan did kill the yeast. Both can be hard on your liver!

Rifampin decreases the effectiveness of Diflucan. More of the drug is required "sometimes" to achieve the same effect, but only your doctor can really advise you firsthand on what to do.
I've opted "not" to take my Rifampin with drugs from that family. I'm going to be using VFEND, which is a big "no-no" with Rifampin. It's in the same family as Diflucan.
