A new PICC line was inserted today, this time in my upper arm It was excruciating as expected. This is the fourth one they've put in and it'll be the last. I just can't do it again.

The LLMD was switching from me from Rocephin to Doxy. When they went to infuse the Doxy, it gave me significant burning pain & soreness in that arm. Caustic medicine? Nerve pain? Does my bogy just need to get used to it?

I can't answer that question, but curious to know where your other picc lines were. I'm on my 2nd and they have been in my inside arm above elbow (if I explained that correctly). I'm doing rocephin and have never done anything else IV yet.

I had IV Doxy and it burned tremendously. I found that keeping a warm compress on my arm and infusing it very, very slowly was the only way I icould tolerate it. I also herxed something fierce after only six days on it. Slow and steady is better than fast and ferious.

I've been in treatment of one kind or another for five years now, and I'm of the opinion herxes aren't necessary.

Slower and longer is better, slowly ramping up and only changing one thing at a time.

If you do herx, I find organic olive oil and two fresh squeeezed organic lemons help tremendously with the pain.

Good luck! Hope this helped
