Do you take it at a certain time or timeframe around the abx?

I thought green tea is a no-no w/abxs. That is lessens the effectiveness.

I may have that backwards.

I drink the green and white. White is even better for us.

I get the ones that have acia berry or some other berry to hide the taste of the green tea

I was already drinking decaf green tea several times a day. I read in a thread on here that it is supposed to help antibiotics work better if you drink it at the same time, so I started also drinking it when I take my antibiotics. I have no idea if it's working or not. I've only been doing it for a short time.

If I have the wrong idea, then somebody please correct me. Thanks.

It might be bad to take with PRObiotics because the heat could kill the bacteria in the capsules before it cools off to the temperature of your body, but that would apply to anything hot. I don't think that problem would affect ANTIbiotics.

I also use "Republic of Tea".. it is the BEST tea I have ever had and I am a tea girl.. I drink like 4 cups a day.... I like the Matcha Green tea and the white... White is very anti-viral and Bacterial and is actually more potent than Green.. but green is more researched.

I drink at least one cup per day. There have been some studies that show it does increase the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Whether it does or not, it is still good for you.

I drink matcha green tea. I haven't noticed any difference in symptoms or bloodwork when I stop drinking it periodically.

However Several studies have shown that green tea will enhance the effects of the tetracyclyine drugs, and in several countries, they tell their patients to take their doxy or mino with a cup of green tea.

Amanda, please, do you have links to articles that say this. I didn't think it was the cycline drugs; but would like to read this myself, since I am on Doxy.

Thanks!

I want to know if taking green tea extract with abx would have the same effect?? I would think so, but who knows? Anybody have any idea? Marnie?

Research the connections between tea and GABA.

I read a study that showed the ability of green tea to enhance the effect of abx, particularly cephalosporins. When I drink it I do feel that the ceftin produces more of a herx.

Marnie, you mean the L-Theanine in green tea that affects GABA, right? How does that affect abx usage?
