My husband has had stomach pain, he has had the array of tests to see if it is his gallbladder, liver, stomach etc. Everything has always came back normal. Since february or march of last year it has gotten increasingly severe at times....he takes pain meds so you would think it would not be as severe.
Hoping someone can help me make sense of this. His dr thought the pain was from the antibiotics and NSAID's. So he was off all those for a month or month and a half. Then went back on the abx, this time bactrim as he has never been on it and she felt it would not hurt his stomach. He has been on it a week and just last night had severe stomach pains again after having had none. Seems the only time he has them is when on abx. Though first 9 months of abx or so he did not have them.

Do you think it is lyme coming out from the bactrim, some new die off? Or could it be a coinfection? He was treated for babesia. I wish their was just simple answers to this disease.

Episodes of severe abdominal pain was one of my symptoms. I had lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella.

No test done by the gastro or the Emergency Room ever found anything.

But, it all went away with good lyme treatment (including treatment for babs and bart). So, it may be that as the diseases are treated, it will just go away like mine did. I never found out which disease exactly caused this pain.

Another thought is that it could be a yeast infection. I got that after a number of months on antibiotics (about 8 months) to treat lyme disease. It caused continual low-grade abdominal pain (along with bloating) and sometimes this pain became severe.

This could explalin the timing of the problem and the new attack shortly after starting another antibiotic. You can read in the Burrascano Guidelines how to treat yeast infections if you do not already know. The yeast can inhabit the entire intestinal tract from mouth through large intestines. It is very unpleasant to say the least.

See page 34. Ask the doc for a prescription to kill the yeast in addition to doing all Burrascano says to do. The strict anti-yeast diet is a must to keep this from returning.

i'm not sure what mine is. i've been up all night. today i'm doing the prep for the colon scope tomorrow.

man, i am IN PAIN!! apparently tho there is a thing called "splenic flexure syndrome" where the colon gets inflammed or something where it bends to go down on the left side.

i dread taking that golytely. i always throw it up, but we'll see. if not, dulcolax!!

you know i've asked several doctors about yeast and every single one say they've never seen systemic yeast or yeast so bad outside the vaginal infection. strange...my mom had it and died from complications of yeast and mrsa.

i think lyme can cause many many problems, however, the doctors not recognizing this is the biggest.

I can't say what anyone else's is but I want to share my experience in case it helps anyone with similar symptoms.

Over the past few weeks I've had terrible stomach pain. I also have felt much sicker in general. I thought I was having some sort of relapse of maybe bart or lyme. Turns out I have a fungal infection as evidenced by my tongue which has a slight grey/black color. I'm on anti-fungals now and feeling so much better. My stomach is a bit sore but so far I haven't had any of the terrible stomach pains that I was having before. I don't know if everyone gets a discolored tongue with a fungal infection or not.

You might also consider parasites and h. pylori. My stomach irritation got better after treating both. Bartonella is also a possible culprit. You might try digestive enzymes with meals to take some of the strain off the system.

You may want to try something that will help with gut inflammation like Xymogen's IgG 2000 DF.

http://www.xymogen.com/2008/formula.asp?code=000019

It may not take the gut pain away entirely but will help if inflammation is an issue. Be sure to check with your LLMD when adding things to your protocol.

My prayers are with your husband and randibear. I hope you both can get some relief.

Terry

Parasites./worms can be a co-infection of Lyme. check out

www.lymephotos.com

I would have never suspected that these were in me, but they were. I was rushed to the hospital several times with projectile vomiting and diarrhea + severe pain.(was given IV mophine for the pain)

The doctors could find nothing even after testing me for parasites several times and doing a colonoscopy.

After doing 6 months of antiparasitic herbs and adding salt/c, the parasites came pouring out of me. That was over 3 yrs ago.

Type parasite and Lyme into search bar here for more info. Please don't ignore this possibility,

Gael
